  1. Magic chimes in: Basketball Hall of Famer Magic Johnson said he never would have joined with Larry Bird to win a championship the way LeBron James is teaming with Dwyane Wade.
  2. He's staying with LA. No mention of Fredi Gonzales? Although, I'm assuming he's taking over the Braves job.
  3. Should we expect all your posts to be pimping that website? But that site is Chicago Sports. All The Time. Wordpress is quite impressive.
  4. What shooters are left?
  5. and I'm sure Larry and Magic feel the same way. Great players have that competitive drive. Lebron doesn't.
  6. Great story and Rose obviously never wanted him here in Chicago. It's a sharp contrast of two players. Rose has no problem being the alpha male leader, and James has no problem deferring that leadership.
  7. I was to until i realized we beat Blanton and Moyer and get to see Hamels and Halladay the next two days. Get one of those please If by some miracle we beat both Hamels and Halladay I predict game threads will be much more populated for a while. I'm just praying for a split.
  8. I'm liking the shorter contracts the bulls are signing.
  9. They'll get hot for just long enough to suck us back in, then remember they're the Cubs. Of course.
  10. Oh crap. I'm starting to care again.
  11. Yep. He turned down a similar offer from Boston because he thought he can start in Chicago.
  12. I'm still holding out hope that that report is false. I don't know why Orlando would pay him that much money. But oh well. Best shooters out there look to be Roger Mason Jr (33% last year, but 41% the year prior with more minutes and 38% career 3pt shooter) and Keith Bogans both from San Antonio, unless you go for Eddie House, who doesn't really interest me at only 6'1". Orlando doesn't care about money. They have gobs to blow. He'll be matched today.
  13. +1 You want to see the greats compete against each other, not join forces.
  14. So If Jordon in his prime went to play with Isiah, Magic, or Bird you wouldn't have a problem with it? Great players have their own team and identity. It's like Bird joining Magic in their prime. I can't say I would care at all. LeBron's legacy isn't tarnished by Cleveland's inability to put a second star on the team with him. Right. It's tarnished because Lebron had to pair up with another great in their prime to get a ring. What greats do that? Kobe forced Shaq out because he wanted to be in charge of his own team. Create his own legacy. Sorry, if you don't understand that but people and players respect that. Maybe Jordan should've forced Pippen out. Some legacy MJ, not too surprising that Jordan fell on his face in Washington without Pippen at his side. :banghead:

  16. Yeah, the prime-time special was stupid, but his decision probably wasn't. If he wanted to ever be considered one of the greats it was. He's never going to be respected by his peers. Who gives a [expletive]? He's the best player in the game and everybody knows it, he's going to get paid, and this gives him a great chance to get some rings. He'll always be considered one of the greats. No he won't. Kobe will, Lebron won't.

  19. That's a terrible comparison.
