    I am loving Hill, but if he can be the cheap centerpiece to net us a proven player like that, I'd do it in a heartbeat. It really wouldn't hurt to shop around to teams like the Reds/Yanks/Mets/Marlins/Red Sox/etc.. No doubt!

    Things will never change as long as Hendry is running the team. I still can't believe he value's RISP over OBP in a interview last month.

    I'm guessing that Murton will be in LF, Pagan in RF, and Theriot at second today along with Cedeno at short. Is it Lee's day off? Wasn't Lee off on Sunday or Monday?

    My sense is that this is and always will be a Cubs town. As bad as we are now, opening day will be huge and it will be that way if and when the Cubs start stinking it up again. Fans always hold out hope until, of course, there is none. Last night's attendance tells me the fans have finally given up this year. It's a Cubs\Bears town. If the Cubs even sniff 1st place you can just feel the buzz in the City...

    What's terrible about making Pie a leadoff hitter? I was just going to post that. What so bad about Pie hitting leadoff????? A leadoff hitter's most important skill is to get on base. Pie's worst attribute is his ability to get on base (as well as his tendency to get thrown out on basepaths). Pie is not a slappy leadoff hitter, which is what the Cubs want all smallish centerfielders to be. They will ruin him if they try, once again, to turn a player into something he is not and should not be. His career OBP in the minors is around .350 which isn't bad, but I can see your point, espcially when checking out how much he K's.

    Uh college football did just start, I still love baseball even if the cubs suck. Hell it's been that way for half my life, the cubs sucking. I meant Pro's. I'm one of the rare ones that have no interest in College Football. But I love, love, love College Basketball. Strange eh? I guess I don't have a College team to root for. Too bad Depaul doesn't have a football team...

    I'm hoping some of the GMs get goofy and don't offer him that much based on hustle and defense. If Furcal got 13 million anything is possible, espically when teams with money are involoved. He'll get 5\65 easy....

    This team needs a control freak. This team on the field now is lazy and simply doesn't care about winning. They are losers and have no problem being labled that. That concerns me a bit. Sounds like Showalter. That works with Kids, but the Vets are going to rebel.

    I didn't know "it looks like" or "it appears" or "I think" or "maybe" or "probably"" etc., etc. ad nauseum were the indicators of definitive statements. There were a whole lot of definitive statements about Hill being made. I'm not about to search and find who said them, I'm just saying they were made, and there were many of them. In that case, I was speaking for myself. I was specifically quoted as someone who needed to be singled out for my comments on Hill, and I don't appreciate the nature of those posts. I agree...It's bit childish and cheap. Let's just all be happy with the progress he's made.

    Full Article CLASS! You don't hear a lot of players leaving bitter. Who wouldn't want to play in Wrigley in front of great fans... Jacque Jones? If Jones learned how to throw a ball to the cutoff man on less then 10 bounces and keep his mouth shut he would be a fan favorite...
