  1. What would you call it if he came up and struck out? A typical at bat for him. Obviously the player isn't going to hit a HR every time. He's human. But I don't see how, in that scenario, you can't see how momentum can be a factor. Bottom line... baseball players are human. People are affected by momentum. As a result, so are baseball players. I still find it funny that some people believe mometum is possible in basketball and not baseball. It's stupid. I find it funny that you see some sort of connection between basketball and baseball. Not all sports are the same. Is there momentum in anything that is some sort of competitive activity? If you don't believe in momentum, then you don't. Baseball vs basketball doesn't make sense. Hell momentum probably exists in chess if a surprise move gets in the oppositions head. No I do belive in momentum. I was laughing at the people who believe it exsits in Basketball and not Baseball. It's senseless.

You can't pick and choose what sports use momentum and what don't.

Again if Micheal Jordan goes off and hits 50 points or ARAM hits 4 homeruns. Both are feeling it and have momentum. Why is this different?

  5. Can you say that he wouldnt have done that without making the catch? Its probably because the pitcher made a bad pitch. What if the pitcher made a perfect pitch and the hitter still hit it? This is silly. There is momentum in every sport.
  6. I think the bigger question is why do you think it does for basketball and not for baseball? That makes no sense? Because baseball is a series of separate events. Basketball is a continuous game. And a big inning where a team scores 4-5 runs in a inning isn't momentum? A player that goes wild and hits everything in site for 5-10 games no matter whose pitching isn't momentum?

  8. Sure it is. How? Its more the fact the Brewers are facing a piss poor pitching staff with tons of injuries to their lineup. They limped in playing them, if momentum was real in baseball, the Cards would be winning these games. I'm not arguing that it carries over day to day, but to say that it doesn't exist is just flat out not true. Momentum is absolutely a part of baseball. Momentum could last 2 inning or 10 games. Baseball is a mental game and momentum plays a part of it.
  9. It's still a poor decision that might have overcome a lackluster effort from the offense. I say the Cubs gave a poor effort: I get called out. Raisin says it: He's right! You called it a poor effort in the second inning. I said the offense's results were lackluster today after the game. We basically lost to 2 bloop singles. True. But still. I guess I have to be drinking the Kool-Aid now, because there's NO WAY IN HELL we lose this division. Just like there was NO WAY IN HELL we lose in 84 or 2003. There is no denying that this win gives the Brewers momentum. Why all the bashing? He's got a right to be concerned. Momentum is the most overrated and ignorant thing in baseball. What happened to the momentum they lost against Atl? Or our momentum? Momentum isnt a part of baseball. Sure it is. Ever play sports?

  11. True. Cubs win this game if not for an early Lilly implosion (and a couple junk hits along the way). Marlins didn't do crap afterwards. Gonna let a junk inning beat you from a team that's 11 games under .500 at home? Then you deserve to schedule a vacation in October instead of play baseball. I just worry about Marquis and Trax the rest of the series. BTW - Dunn is done for the year. So we'll face Cincy without Griffrey and Dunn. Not a given Trax is goin on Thurs, and its not like Florida is throing Cy Young the next 2 nights True.

  13. I have a feeling we'll score three runs here. Just a feeling...
  14. Save the laughs for the Cubs... Nah, I'll save the laughs for you guys. You guys are killing me tonight. 3 game lead with 6 games left, and you guys are jumping off the cliff already. It's not like were not capable of blowing this...
  15. Whoever thinks we're winning this game is living in Dreamland. I said that in the 3rd inning and people didn't believe me.
  16. nah, i say up 1 or 2... cubs are not getting swept this series and/or brewers will not sweep the cards Wanna bet? i'll bet that the cubs aren't tied with the brewers at the end of thursday. care to make it a year of premium? lol. How much is 1 year premium? $50. I bet you by Thursday the Cubs lead will shrink to 1 game. Cool?

  18. That's funny because I keep looking to see if the Cubs scored more runs or something...But nope...

  20. They won in the first inning? Amazing. I'm sure that lights out bullpen of the Brewers will shut them down too. Cuz they haven't blown a game all year. Do you honestly thing the Brewers will stop scoring tonight?
