  1. No way Brewers lose this game. I bet when you woke up on that fateful morning in 1912 you thought there was no way the Titanic would sink...There's a chance. There's always a chance. There is a chance I'll win lotto. How much of a chance is the question.
  2. I had a terrible feeling yesterday morning about the Cubs, and now I have a great feeling this morning. Good sign. It's going to be one of those nights where I'm going to avoid watching them, check the score to see who won later on, and if it's good news watch the game. My nerves can't handle another loss like last nights.
  3. You mean the Brewers could take all four games. Hey, if they can take all four games and win 7 straight to close out the season. Tip your cap to them!
  4. Agreed. Start Hill Thursday, Zambrano Friday. Regardless of what happens tonight, this is what I'd like to see. I have to believe this is what Lou is considering. That sounds about right. You can always start Traschel Saturday, who could do well in a powerless (sans Dunn/Girff) Reds lineup. Or take a gamble and start Hart who Lou loves. Whatever the case it's going to be a nervous 5 games. Whew! Nah, it's gonna be fun. :) Dude, I really hope so.

  6. With both Griffey and Dunn out, that might be the choice. I think Rich Hill would have a great game dealing to the Marlins young guys.
  7. Forget Marquis the offense needs to show up tonight. They should kill the next two nights.
  8. Why not start Rich Hill? Move him up from his Friday's start.
  9. They'll get it in. Chance of rain is 50%. Where is Truffle when you need him?
  10. I think the Cubs need to take 3 out of their last 5. Then you only count on the Padres to take 1, and even if they don't you're still in a 1 game playoff. Right. Put it this way if they Cubs can't manage 3 wins against the Marlins and the Reds they might as well hand it over to the Brewers...
  11. I wouldn't bank on that. Padres have no offense and Peavy is pitching tonight. Young hasn't been the young in the 1st half and who else do they have. Maddux? Brewers could take 3/4 or even sweep. It's entirely possible.
  12. So you say I'm being ridiculous for saying that momentum could exist in other sports including baseball and then you state that momentum exist to "some degree" in baseball, but is "pretty minimal" to the point of being negible with no evidence nor explanation. Talk about calling the kettle black. Do me a favor ask a baseball player if he believes in momentum and see what he says.
  13. I didn't even know that! They were down when I went to bed. So Peavy pitches tonight, so he could pitch on Sat. or Sun.
  14. I'm telling you right now not to freak, but start to prepare yourself.
  15. I hope Don Young doesn't choke down the stretch again. No wait that was 35 years ago, and he may very well be dead. The plight of the last 99 years has nothing to do with the current team. There aren't even many players left from the team that collapsed in '04, and most importantly there are no coaches or MANAGER left from that team. It just seems that the Cubs always choke. The evidence is there. You can't deny it. That being said, however, I feel good about this game. Hopefully they can rebound and the bats can put up 5 or so runs. Hopefully they'll win and the Brewers will lose and all will be well... True. If the Cubs cant muster at least another 3 wins against a couple of weak teams, and the Brewers can pull of 5 more consecutive wins, then The Brewers deserve to win it, and the Cubs dont and 2007 will simply go down as another dissapoining chapter in Cubs History. So true. BTW - Pad's are down again tonight. If they are out of it Brewers aren't going to see Peavy in the series.
  16. Oh man...I agree. I have such a bad feeling. I pray the Cubs come out with guns blazing tomorrow.
  17. Tell me why it exists in Football and Basketball and not Baseball? Because, as I said earlier, baseball is a series of individual events. Basketball is continuous. Football's kinda in the middle as there are a ton of individual events going on within one big event, but there is no continuous play. So momentum can only happen when it's "Continous play"? Do you realize how silly this sounds?

  19. Dunn's having surgery on Wednesday and is out for the year. So no Grif of Dunn. Thank god!
  20. Tell me why it exists in Football and Basketball and not Baseball?
  21. Have I not been doing that in this thread? Momentum is something that is basically like clutch, it can always be said after the fact, but never before. Its more about who you are playing, whos pitching, etc... then some fairy tale imaginary thing called momentum. People are going to say the Brewers have momentum now, but what happened to those devastating defeats against the Braves? They started facing a new team, with crappy pitchers, and an offense killed by injuries. Momentum could last 1 inning or 10 games. If people could control momentum they would never lose and hit 1.000. There is all kinds of ways you lose momentum. You said that it exsist in Basketball and not baseball. Okay let me ask you then if the Bulls win the first 10 games and lose the next 10 isn't that momentum gained and loss? See where I'm going? Momentum is going to come and go in sports.
