  1. Just go straight to the clubhouse and bathrooms. I once took a tour of Wrigley and I couldn't believe how small the Clubhouse was. It was laughable.
  2. Nothing worse being a Cubs fan and a Depaul fan. Go Demons! Yay!
  3. I'd pay to see you try to get those things in a studio apt.
  4. Wrong manager for that team. I can't see this having a happy ending.
  5. With things the way they are, you're probably right. If Hendry gets a little creative with current salary and ARods, I thinks it's possible. If ARod just wants all the cash he could get, I think he would have stayed with the Yanks so maybe it's possible that he wants to play somewhere that he's comfortable and that's where Lou comes in big time. That's asking a lot.
  6. I'm told they "still have some work to do" on that. I don't know why. I don't understand how the team can pay Dempster and Wade Miller to rehab when they had about 1/200 of the upside that Prior has. My guess is the Cubs want to be certain that they don't rehab Prior, he returns in August, and then walks as a FA. My feeling is they don't want to pay him three million to rehab and then leave. The work could be convincing Prior to take a deal with a team option for 2009. What if come August we need him? Surely it would be worth the 3 million if he's healthy for the stretch drive.
  7. What about the Mets and the Dodgers?
  8. It's just grass and cement blocks. Who cares. I think a lot of people would have wanted some Wrigley grass. Additionally, the goal post anchors: who knows if someone wanted them or not? Perhaps it would have been possible to reuse them. You can always throw it away, but if you throw it away, you can't put it to good use. They should have at least seen if someone had any interest or ideas of what to do with them. I don't understand why someone would want 90-year-old concrete. You don't think someone out there would pay decent money for the goal post anchors with 50 years of Bears history? I'm sure some idiot would, but think of it this way, the construction workers just saved that-said idiot thousands of dollars. Think about the $$ that would've gone to Cubs Care!! Good point!

  11. Here's a bunch of pics of Wrigley sod project. I can't believe how fast it's going... http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/story/2007/10/24/122756/14#commenttop
  12. Yup. Actually, it was over when the Red Sox won game 5 of the last series. You two couldn't be more wrong. This game means nothing to the Rockies. They're supposed to lose this game because Beckett is on the mound. Beckett is supposed to be doing exactly what he's in the middle of doing: shutting the Rockies down and winning the game. I think the key game for them is Game 2 and that if they can come out of Boston with a split, they'll be in good shape. Now, if they lose Game 2 and go back to Colorado down 2-0, then they'll be in trouble. But not right now. Do you really think any of the Rox other starters can stop the Sox? Well I don't think the Red Sox are going to score 10 runs on 16 hits through 5 innings every single game. And remember that there is a huge dropoff in the Sox rotation from Beckett to Schilling/Matsuzaka/Lester. I think the Red Sox are going to win the series but I don't think losing this game is the end of the world for the Rockies. If the Red Sox lost this game, though, I think that would hurt a lot because the Rockies would have beaten Beckett. But obviously that's not going to happen. Rockies aren't going to out slug the Red Sox. Won't happen.

  14. I don't even know who to root for. I don't dislike either team.
  15. Let's sum this up: Dempster's fine. Bullpen's fine. Offense is not. Spend the money there.
  16. Josh Beckett keyed this whole series. The dude is nails.
  17. Sounds like a bandwagon fan to me. Yep. Obviously.
  18. Eventually we'll feel this guys. Right?
  19. Wow! Talk about pouring it on!!!! Man, I'd love to know what this feels like....
  20. Brutal, brutal call. That was the game changer...
  21. Depresses me to watch the Red Sox and Rox offense. They are everything the Cubs aren't. Sigh....
  22. It's going to be a interesting WS. I'm sure Boston will be favored, but Rockies may just keep the mojo going.
  23. After 8 or 9 days off? I wonder if the Rox will come out a little cold. Didn't they have 5-6 days off before this last series? They didn't look cold.
  24. We would've beat them in 6.
