I have faith Busch will be good enough at 1b with more experience, but if PCA can hit enough (not sure if he can), Cody should be the everyday 1B when he returns with Busch at DH. -

Not sure if Jamo faces Nimmo either way, but agree. Hopefully Busch improves with more reps. If PCA can hit enough and Morel can glove enough, Busch should be the DH when Cody returns.

Eh. The Diamondbacks were equally terrible. I guess the 2 base wild pitch to tie the game was pretty lucky, but I’m sure the DBacks would have felt pretty lucky squeaking by being outhit 9-3 too.

Agree. I’d probably just let Amaya stay in there. I’d also prefer Mervis be on the team as the heavy side of a DH platoon/LH pinch hitter.

That’s dumb. And now irrelevant but: Busch is a top prospect in his own right, ranked as a Top 100 prospect entering 2024 by Baseball America (No. 43), MLB Pipeline (51) and Baseball Prospectus (71).

Last year Seiya sucked for awhile even after coming back from the oblique. So… not ideal.

More like 0 time. But we’re paying him so he’ll pitch. He can still get good results against bad hitters, but he basically has no chance against a lineup like this, Rangers, Braves, etc.

Michael Busch’s plate discipline is incredible. Very happy to see him rewarded with that bomb.

That had to be one of the most impressive innings of hitting I’ve seen in a long time. So many great ABs vs a very nasty pitcher.
