  1. Why do people here keep slamming people on other team's boards as if they're saying these things just to mess wih us? Some of us are WAY too wound up over this. I'm agreeing with you a lot. Watch out, though. Someone is going to call you out for coming to the defense of the insiders. I have no knowledge of who is who on the Orioles board except for what was posted earlier in this thread. I will point out though, that the only labeled insider talking about the Cubs and Roberts during this whole thread on Bedard appears to be a new poster to the Orioles board with a supposed Cubs source whose veracity is openly questioned on the board. Link to Orioles Hangout Insider Re-cap.

  3. A better question is, how many members don't remember if they have or have not have posted in this thread. Or how many new members have been added SINCE this thread was started..haha. Sixteen - yes, I am that bored at work.
  4. I believe that the only live broadcast was from last night. They usually record the Saturday sessions and put them on the WGN website eventually.
  5. Murton (or Marshall or Gallagher) for Byrd is ridiculous.
  6. From Rosenthals' article on the likelihood of Bedard to the Mariners...

  9. Using Baseball Musings' lineup analysis and the predictions as above (with a PECOTA for Fukudome): Cubs avg R/G: 5.194 Best lineup: 5.431 R/G Fukudome Lee DeRosa Ramirez Soto Soriano Pie Pitcher Theriot Worst lineup: 4.771 R/G With a .360/.475 line for Fukudome: 5.068 R/G avg; 5.289 R/G best

  11. Does the bolded statement above from Houston and the Cubs GM's love of long term deals scare anyone else?
  12. Tickets for the three potential World Series games at Coors Field will go on sale Tuesday at noon MT exclusively at coloradorockies.com. A malicious attack on the server this morning is suspected.
  13. Suspended sales Alves says virtually all the tickets are still available, due to a computer system malfunction. He says only several hundred tickets were sold. "Right now we're shutting the system down .... We expect to be online at some point," Alves said. According to Alves, the Colorado Rockies will announce new plans to sell the tickets at some point later Monday afternoon. He says the Web site received 8.5 million hits in the first 90 minutes the system was up and running.
  14. I'm getting through to the VWR 1 in 40 chances in Firefox, it then counts down to 1 and times out.
  15. It must be those damn Rockies fans trying to get through.
  16. That was a dead-on line by line reply to the article. Nice stuff.
  17. Wittenmeyer is crazy. Jacque Jones VORP was 7.6 runs this year, 8th on the Cubs and 29th for CF in MLB. He played a good CF. There is a lot of room for offensive CF improvement.
  18. FWIW, here is the quality of pitchers faced in AVG/OBP/SLG allowed: Edgar Renteria 0.253/0.337/0.404 Ryan Theriot 0.256/0.335/0.405 Miguel Tejada 0.252/0.330/0.398
  19. Theriot had a VORP of 6.6 (11th on the team), and was 26th in baseball in that category for SS. He was also below average in the field. Why the love?
