  1. 10 rpg and 2 bpg in 25.2 mpg is being good at basketball. No, it's being a blunt instrument playing in Conference USA. Take out the Kansas game when he was in foul trouble all game and he averaged 10.4 rpg and 2.4 bpg in the NCAA tournament. He pulled down 15 in the Final Four game against Kevin Love. Earlier in the season he pulled down 13 and had 4 blocks against Roy Hibbert and Georgetown. Joey Dorsey is good at what he does, regardless of the competition he's playing against. Greg Oden says hi. You're right, he got outplayed by the best college big man of the last 10 years. He sucks.

  4. I won't say he was talking out of his ass, I think Joey was just being a kid. I think he was just playing on the early "rumors" that Rose would be a Bull, and he thought he was some fun with the media, and pick the opposite. I see no harm, I just see a kid having a little fun. Certainly no harm. I think it would be hilarious if Dorsey ends up a Chicago Bull. I don't think it'd be funny to see him on my favorite NBA team. It would be funny if he ends up on the Pistons. I think you'd love Dorsey if he played for the Bulls. He's kind of gotten a bad rap IMO.
  5. How much have you watched Rose play? I don't think you can make judgments about something like court vision unless you've watched him play extensively. why would you say this to me and not to someone who says he might have the best court vision of anyone they've ever seen? i mean, isn't that a bolder statement than "i wouldn't call his court vision a weakness but i don't think he's in the class of some of the best point guards in the league right now"? i hate having to defend my perceptions by boasting about who and what i've seen and how many times i've seen them in person, so i'm not going to do it here. but let's just say that i've followed derrick rose's career rather closely since before he had ever set foot in tennessee. I agree with your assessment on Rose's court vision. It's good, but I wouldn't necessarily say great. He's great at getting into the lane, but still better at creating for himself than others. He's not even in Kidd's league in this respect, but, then again, few ever have been. I really disagree with this. He does have great court vision, and at this point he's just as good at creating for teamates as he is for himself. If you watched this kid all year you'd see he almost always made the right pass. You're not going to rack up many assists in this Memphis offense because it's a dribble drive motion offense. Your options are either layups or 3's. I honestly don't get the Jason Kidd comparisons. Yes he might struggle from long range like Kidd, but if you watch him shoot, you see that he will eventually be a good jump shooter.
  6. I don't think Fududome does either.
  7. Rose's "court vision" is better then you give him credit for. And IMO, I think his court vision will rival Kidd, Nash, and Deron Williams in no time. To say that Rose's court vision is not a strength is laughable.
  8. At this point Aramis should be picked over Wright.
  9. and i don't see any real, substantial, convincing evidence to support your case. all that's being said is that rose is the better player. well, why is rose the better player? beasley scored over 26 ppg in 31 mpg. that's seriously impressive and shows me that he can put th eball in the hole. his rebounds show me that he was a dominant post presence and watching him play shows me that he was both physically superior to everyone in college basketball and a good perimeter player. there are not many players with his skillset. Rose was playing with 4 guys who have entered the draft this year. That is a big reason you can't just look at stats and tell who's better. If Rose would have needed to avg 26.0 a game for the team to win, he could have.
  10. Lou said the same thing about Pie when he was struggling - they worked with him, then got him more AB's & he didn't produce. The leash was very short with Pie, and I guarantee you it will be just as short with Edmonds. Hopefully soon Pie will (and should) be back up, as I would prefer to let him adjust at the major league level getting AB's everyday. The problem is that he WON'T be getting AB's everyday, it'll be a platoon with Johnson. So, is a Johnson platoon beneficial to Pie? HUH?!?! I'm pretty sure he didn't get more AB's after they worked with him and I'm pretty sure he did actually startto produce after that too. More or less the opposite of what you said. Huh? Show me the difference in production. Furthermore, what the hell are you arguing with me for? I'm on your side to bring Pie up and dump Edmonds! He's arguing with you because what you wrote is the complete oppisite of truth. Pie never got more at bats and the at bats he did get were producing more than earlier in the year.
  11. Lou's comments on Edmonds after Wednesday's game. "We need to see improvement with the bat; let's be perfectly honest," Piniella said. "He needs at-bats. We're going to give him as many as we can." I love this organization. Let's give at many bats as possible to the 38 year old washed up centerfielder. But lets not give our 23 year old top prospect any time to make adjustments at the major league leve. Is it possible that no one in the front office realizes how freaking stupid this is?
  12. That would be mine as well. His T/O ratio isn't that great, he's a blah foul shooter, and he doesn't have excellent 3 range. IMHO, he needs some developing for the NBA game. He does have the body and the dribble drive, but the rest he has to develop if he wants to be a top notch guy. Memphis runs a very complicated offense. It took Rose about a third of the season to really figure everything out and get comfortable. Check out his T/O assist ratio from midseason on, it's pretty impressive. And once the tournament started he cut his turnovers down even more. He's just so strong and quick that he can get his shot off at will. He also finishes well after contact. One more thing to realize, he only played like 25 minutes a game last year. So in reality his numbers could've been a lot better. He also seems like a really great kid. Coach Calipari couldn't have talked any better about him throughout the season. How many high school players with as much hype as him would be willing to come in and only play 25 minutes a game and defer to another player like Rose did all year. All he cares about is winning. I probably saw every minute of his season and I'm telling you, if the Bulls take him you're all in for a treat.
  13. Mostly boos with some cheers when he took the field, faint applause for his first at-bat. It sounded like quite a bit of applause before his fist at bat to me.
  14. Nothing left to do but support him at this point.
  15. No point in getting upset at Pie sitting against a lefty. Lilly's pitching for us not them.
  16. Yep, I think this loss falls squarely on Lou's shoulders. The parallels between him and the Dusty situation are starting to become eerie. Filling out awful lineup cards, playing worse players over better players.
  17. It's tough to call a squeeze when everybody in the stadium thinks it's coming. If it's the 9th inning maybe, but in the 8th I say get as many runs as you can.
  18. I agree with the sentiment in your post. The blackouts are a joke, but no way in hell can that be a 10 hour drive. It takes me 10 hours to do Chicago to Atlanta, and I'm positive that Memphis is quite a bit closer to Cincy than that. It was definitely an uneducated guess. I've never thought about driving to Cincinatti so I really had no clue. I just checked and I am however 500 miles south of Cincinatti.
