Ryan Theriot has horrible range. I disagree he gets to most balls that he should. That is good range. Not Great or Excellent, but good. that was not a problem of range, it was a problem of throwing the ball into the ground. Who cares? He's a sucky SS.

Awful? He's Elton Brand minus the blocks. uhmmmmm, this is not true. What's not true about it? Take away Randolph's first two years in the league when he was averaging less that 15 m/pg and their career numbers are basically identical. The only difference being that Brand's field goal % is slightly better.

I don't get why the Clippers wanted Richardson. How does that help? Randolph is a weirdo and all, but he's still a 20-10 guy, and you got back...Q-Rich? Okay... it probably has something to do with blake griffin and the fact that z-bo is fat, lazy, expensive and a defensive liability. I didn't say I didn't get why they traded Randolph. I just have a hard time seeing how Richardson, aside from contract, helps the Clippers at all, and I suspect they could have gotten more for him--or at least different. well, the clippers are notoriously, repeatedly stupid. and the return for z-bo was destined to be slim, considering how much he makes and the fact that no one wants him. Except the grizz, apparently, who are just as stupid as the clippers. This is not a stupid move by the Grizzlies. They had no one on the roster who could score down low. No one. They now have a player who can consistently score on the block and knock down the occasional 17 footer. This should really help Gay and Mayo on the perimeter. Is Zack Randolph ideal no. But no free agents are going to come here. The only way to get big time talent is through the draft and trades.

The Grizzlies have a very interesting team now. There's some good young talent there. Now with a legit 20/10 guy down low they have a chance to be pretty decent.

A hit & run with a full count is actually ok with me. It doesn't force the batter to swing at anything he normally wouldn't.

Just throwing this out there but do you think working with Len the las few years would have any affect on how Brenly would manage in the future? Maybe Len's saber mentality has changed some of Brenly's views on how the game should be played? Or do you think Brenly thinks Len is a dork that knows nothing about real baseball because he's never played it? Probably the latter.

Why not? Because Brenly was a pretty bad manager who rode an amazing starting rotation to a WS. I'm not saying this as a fan of Lou because I was not a big fan of hiring him in the first place, but I definitely do not want Brenly. Bob seems like good people and I really like him as the color guy but I do not want him managing the Cubs. I'm very curious if people wanting Brenly managing now wanted him for the job back after 2006. Wanting Brenly just screams of change for the sake of change. Plus, let's be clear: if Lou quits or is fired before the end of the season Trammel will finish the job. I don't think I'd have much of an issue with Brenly managing. I don't disagree with much of anything I hear him say on the air. And any manager that wins championships usually has a star player or two (or three, or four), so I think its pretty shortsighted and at worse unfair to hold that against him. With that said though, if I had a choice, I'd rather give a shot to Trammell. edit - to the other subtopic in this thread, I thought fontenot would be half decent as a starter too. I didnt expect that 900 ops from his utility role last year, but I did expect like a 775-825 ops coupled with way better defense and consistency. The main problem a lot of people have with Brenly is that he'd likely be a very hands-on manager - i.e. lots of sac bunts, double switches, steals, hits and runs, etc. I think he did a good deal of that in Arizona as well. So basically, like every other NL manager.
