    Wow, that's way too harsh a response, I think. You know what's a ridiculous joke? The fact that we can talk about Placido Polanco and Willie Harris outslugging Derrek Lee in such a long time period. What is this stuff about "even close to the same league" as Derrek Lee? Since May he's basically been a .750 OPS hitter. There's nobody out there who has a chance at reaching this lofty benchmark? You've gone out too far on a limb and I don't think you've really bothered to look at what Derrek Lee has become. I don't think the idea that Hoffpauir can do better than a .750 OPS playing against righties is any sort of madness whatsoever. "what Derrek Lee has become"? Since when is this his ceiling? He's had a bad stretch. He's still better than any of our other options, including Micah Hoffpauir. Give him as many AB's as he needs to get back on track. It's not like we're in any imminent danger of missing the playoffs.

    BA will have him higher than any other ranking, don't know if he can sneak into the top 10 though. He's put together a fantastic second half. Samardzija will be top 10 if he doesn't exhaust his eligibility. Vitters Cashner Ceda those guys are top definitely in the top 10... then we're left with some questionable guys (in no particular order) Jackson Castillo Colvin Rundle Veal Thomas Flaherty Carpenter Schafer Maestri Rhee Suarez Huseby Most of those guys have spent a good deal of this season either ineffective or injured... or simply don't have the track record to support what they've done to this point (Jackson). I could see Guyer slipping into the upper half of that group.

    Brandon Guyer homered for Peoria, keeping his strong season going. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a top 10 prospect for us going into next season.

    Great move. It's not like Ross murders lefties at a .278/.336/.556 clip this season (.292/.357/.608 career). I'd have much rather we just attack Ramirez.

    I was just checking the MLB's standings page... Runs: 1. Rangers - 688 2. Cubs - 662 3. Red Sox - 632 28. Padres - 465 29. Giants - 462 30. Nationals - 454 Runs Allowed: 1. Dodgers - 480 2. A's - 481 3. Blue Jays - 482 4. Rays - 484 5. Cubs - 502 28. Rockies - 646 29. Pirates - 658 30. Rangers - 750 Yeah... the Cubs look pretty good. But how ridiculously bad is that Rangers pitching?

    What the hell is going on? 6 milion + signing bonus'??? When did this happen? Is this the first year? The biggest MLB signing bonus' i'd ever heard of before today was like 3 million or something. Yeah... this year does seem a bit crazy. If you nabbed a top talent, you really had to open up the pocketbook this year.
