  1. Sweet! Value of Kip Wells bobblehead doll = ^^^^^^
  2. Everyone who signed up through this post should be on the list. That's my birthday too. And we'll have to fight for the spot in that instance ;) We don't let people request games (because that would be a huge hassle), but we can figure out something out for birthdays. As long as THE STREAK IS RESPECTED. :)
  3. Everyone who has signed up through this post should be on the list. Welcome aboard!
  4. Whenever Modzilla decides it's time to start a game thread, we'll let Modzilla start the game thread. :) Did you want to sign up, CubinNY?
  5. There's also a thorough writeup of the Down on the Farm session in a diary at Al Yellon's Bleed Cubbie Blue site.
  6. how agreeable! I'm going to sign up otis, since he did start the thread asking about signing up in Discussions.
  7. Sign-up thread is up in the Game Threads forum.

  9. Suggestions for Starting Game Threads 1. In the subject header, please start by putting the date and the team matchup. (Example: 4/18 Reds at Cubs). If this information is not included, then expect the subject to be edited so that it is. Feel free to add anything else you deem appropriate for the game! 2. Please include the following information in the message text: --expected starting pitchers --game time --tv information (just look on the cubs.com page for the information - no one expects you to run down all the various cable/satellite options) --You can add the XM radio info by checking in at the ESPN Schedule Page. 3. Don't start the next game thread before the previous game has ended. 4. Do start the next game thread the afternoon/evening before game day ... people like to discuss pre-game thoughts. 5. When you become the Game Thread Starter, please send a private-message to whoever is replacing you On Deck. 6. If your turn is up and you won't be available to start the next game thread, please let one of the mods know (start with me if I'm online). Thanks! 7. If the next day's game thread isn't up by 11pm CT the night before a game (midnight on weekends!!) and the Cubs are not playing a night game at the time, someone can start the game thread on a spot-start basis. If you're the current starter, have a win streak going, and know you might be late getting the next one up, post in this thread to reserve your start so someone else won't spot-start. 8. Anyone can start the Other Games Thread -- first come, first served.
  10. If you're interested in starting a game thread for the 2006 regular season, please sign up now by posting in this thread. Starters will go in the order that they sign up. There will be an opening day game thread starter announced soon. This signup is for regular season games. Spring training games are first-come, first-served. Go Cubs! :)
  11. Thanks for the recap, upperd! I'm glad the Hawk auto especially worked out for you. Either last year or the year before, they said they had 16,000+ attend some portion of the convention. One of the reasons I didn't go this year was because there's so many people there that even attending sessions becomes a huge hassle. I haven't tried any of the autograph lines (except for an unannounced session by Big Z last year) because the waiting time is ridiculous. Maybe my enthusiasm will return next year. I saw Wuertz out last year as well.
  12. YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW.
  13. I'll get the sign-up thread up tomorrow. :)
  14. I want to here more about that moment. Details, Please!
  15. Here's a Peoria Journal article about the caravan stop.
  16. From the comments on Bleed Cubbie Blue from people who attended the business session, it sounds like the center field "restaurant" will actually be a center field mega-suite for group rental only. They're also now saying that it will likely obstruct the view from the first rows of the upper CF bleacher section.
  17. I thought Boston was supposed to have his rights through this next season. Did they non-tender him or something?
  18. Hendry said last night during one of the broadcast portions that "Mark Prior was not going to be traded for Miguel Tejada." You can still interpret that 98 different ways, but that's what he said. He went on to say that there was never a deal on the table; that there was never a time in which front office types were waiting on an owner's approval or choice between two deals; and that just because a team asks about a player does not mean a player is being shopped.
  19. This was also posted in the Prior Peeved? thread in discussions, so people commented there as well.
  20. The latest Trib article has some Prior quotes about the trade talk. The article is also being discussed in transactions, but the Prior part of it seems relevant here. It's tough to misinterpret these quotes. :)
  21. Juan Pierre said he was disappointed in his OBP last year.
  22. The booing was louder than the cheering, at least.
  23. Well, he says Murton and Cedeno are ready to play. Spent some time really talking up Murton (Kaplan's question was about Murton, who is apparently at the convention).
  24. Not that I know of. They usually put soundclips on the website within a few days. Can you use a different player?
