    He needs to pitch in the majors. Hendry passed up the chance of trading high with his superman minor league stats. But if they don't move Maddux, I think Hill will get shipped back to AAA. It's a pre-requisite for being a Cubs fan.

    It's not so much the managing out of the season that disturbs me (I don't like it, but figured that would happen). It's the growing inevitability that he'll get a contract extension that gets my blood boiling.

    I was invited to go to tomorrow's game, which would be my first game since the mini-NSBB get-together when Vance was in town. After reading this, I'm turning down the ticket. The thought of Dusty getting an extension makes me nauseous.

    Looks like he was pulled because his pitches were getting up there, he looked gassed and he had a couple of running-over-to-cover-1B plays (yes! he did cover 1B!). They did look at his hand and as he walked in the dugout, he was holding his hand oddly, like a claw. Len and Bob were speculating that he probably had some hand/forearm cramping because of the heat/humidity. No indication from either of them that there's concern over something more serious.

    Hi, Ron! Why hasn't Miguel Negron been playing for the past couple of days? You probably saw that I posted about the Lookouts' announcers thinking that something was up when he was pulled from Monday's game.
