  1. Holliman previously topped out at 113 IPs (college) in '05 and is currently at 127. I don't believe in absolutes in pitch counts or innings. But Holliman was cruising earlier and then hit a wall for awhile, and it wouldn't surprise me if part of that was because he's pitching more innings at a higher level than he has before. Pitching a full season is not easy.
  2. I've never seen that site before, thanks. It's the new home for the former brewerfan.net splits -- they get all the credit. :) I just hope they can maintain the access to that data.
  3. That's the $5 million question that Hendry gets to answer.
  4. Someone's got to do it.
  5. An updated CBS Sportsline article with an interesting play-by-play on the feud is here. The bottom line for Cubs fans:
  6. Awesome! I was listening earlier, then had dinner plans.
  7. Relax, this thread is tame. Besides, William Shatner is very underrated as a musician! :)
  8. The Chiefs are down 1-0 after 1 on a solo shot by Timber Rattler Ron Garth.
  9. Yes ... but the backward somersault was cool nonetheless. So was the part when the line drive his hit glove and he kept trying to tell them that. He looked terrified that they'd try to take him out of the game. 8-)
  10. BTW, as mentioned on the broadcast yesterday, due to the quick call-up, O'Malley was missing his apostrophe on his road uniform. http://images.chron.com/photos/2006/08/16/3185914/311xInlineGallery.jpg http://static.flickr.com/85/217194234_d475248068.jpg
  11. Cardinals win it in the bottom of the 9th, 2-1.
  12. That videoclip (the one the NSBB link takes you to) is the WGN post-game interview with O'Malley when he gets the shaving cream pie. Stomper is asking for another part of the post-game show which I haven't seen a videoclip of anywhere. O'Malley is from Springfield, IL, and the State Journal-Register ran several articles on him being called up.
  13. Bailey has been lights-out in AA.
  14. That doesn't sound good. Hopefully a lesson learned for next season.
  15. Do you think they'll have him start in Daytona or AA next season?
  16. Phil Rogers seems to be doing the beat reporting as well as his usual columns while Paul Sullivan is off doing whatever he's doing right now.
  17. this makes me think Hendry will call him up. He can really "catch the ball" Harvey can really throw the ball, too. They promoted Dopirak after his rough Daytona stint and he seemed to respond favorably even given the big setback with his foot injury and ongoing problems related to it. Harvey's turnaround has been dramatic. As others have noted, his BB/K ratio is still alarming and creates a lot of doubt. But it's nice to see him battling back.
  18. The WGN postgame interview video clip has been posted at Len & Bob's blog site.
  19. There's a Quick Reply User Script available that can be used with the greasemonkey extension for Firefox that will give you the quick reply option on php boards, including this one. You have to add the NSBB view topic url to the extension once it's installed.
  20. The only thing I agree with is that Dusty is far from the only problem with the Cubs. I'd like to see Hendry & MacPhail hit the road, too, but that seems unlikely this off-season.
  21. I like the gray roads -- it's cool that it just says Chicago on the front. For people who are interested in Cubs uniform trivia, this Uni Watch article would be of interest. The Cubs stuck with the felt logos after switching to the new Cool-Flow batting helmets.
  22. Perhaps because he's still lower half of the system. That's what I was thinking, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him move quickly, given how he's pitching (next season if not this season due to Daytona playoff aspirations, etc). Just curious.
  23. Hasn't Callis been very complimentary of The Don! recently? I'm surprised he's not on that list.
