  1. Yeah, in the twilight of his career, after 27 years of working with one dude, at the age of 63, dude is ready to strike out on his own. Right.
  2. Davies drew the penalty that lead to Sochaux's goal in the 1-0 victory.
  3. Ribery and Robben combined really well. The second half was like watching a different team.
  4. Haha, on a pk and an og no less. Btw, my preseason wager on Chelsea is looking very good.
  5. It was pretty bad if you give two s's about that kind of thing. It was a solid three Mississippi followed by a scowly bat toss.
  6. By squad age are you saying that Robben is old? I always mistake his age cause he looks to be like 40 but he is actually only 25. 25? That's hilarious. Still, his health is a worry.
  7. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=671085&sec=transfers&cc=5901 Robben to Bayern. Interesting for a lot of reasons. Ribery's future, their squad age and the amount they spent on such an injury plagued dude. Great player when he's healthy though.
  8. GOALKEEPERS- Tim Howard, Brad Guzan. DEFENDERS- Carlos Bocanegra, Oguchi Onyewu, Jay DeMerit, Chad Marshall, Steve Cherundolo, Jonathan Spector, Jonathan Bornstein, Clarence Goodson. MIDFIELDERS- Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Michael Bradley, Stuart Holden, Kyle Beckerman, Ricardo Clark, Benny Feilhaber, Jose Francisco Torres, Robbie Rogers. FORWARDS-Charlie Davies, Jozy Altidore, Brian Ching, Conor Casey, Robbie Findley.
  9. Mmmm...Spaten.
  10. God I love the Champions League. Bayern, Juve and Bordeaux. United v Wolfsburg. Milan v Madrid. Barca v Inter. Fantastic.
  11. There's a possibility that Jermaine Jones will be back this weekend for Schalke.
  12. http://www.noshortcorners.com/2009/08/finally.html Well struck, cheeky goal.
  13. Dear Carlos Bocanegra, How much hot french ass do you pull? Why are you so slow? love, USSoccer
  14. I dont know all the circumstances, but it seems like he may be using the threats as an excuse. He had already been replaced on FSC by Wynalda, and he had already lost a lot of sponsors. To the point that he was trying to get funds from some of his listeners. If I had to guess I would say he could not find any sponsors and had no more money and that is why his show is going off the air. I listen pretty much every day and I think reggie's got it. Unfortunately I really liked the show and there wasn't anything else like it out there in terms of a daily, good soccer show. This sucks. I downloaded today's podcast but haven't listened to it yet. wolf, what soccer podcasts are you listening to now? I'm looking for a replacement. i listen to the Major League Soccer Talk podcast if they're talking about the MNT, otherwise I don't bother.
  15. From http://www.dunord.blogspot.com
  16. I agree, it's not like the draw just came out. We've known this could happen for days now.
  17. Next great hope/hypes sign with Hoffenheim I like the idea of two of our best young stars a)developing together outside of the USSF setup and B) going to such an aggressive, up-and-coming, well-run team. Hey retards, it's not the 80's anymore, nor is it a crappy Elijah Wood movie.
  18. On the mf'in board. He's an animal.
  19. Jozy is starting today in the Carling Cup. I've read more than half a dozen articles about him in the English press since last weekend and it's been odd reading about an American player being the darling of the media. Everybody loves him and are raving.
  20. I need a break from Brian Ching. http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2009/08/cooper-scores-beautiful-goal.html
  21. Clint was up top today against Chelsea.
  22. Haha, you're on! I'm totally counting on a January spending spree to help because I agree with everything you said. I think Jozy missing that first chance where he lobbed it wide made him press a little which led to him making some decisions he maybe shouldn't have in terms of trying to go at his man instead of laying it off (especially on the rebound of Ghilas' shot from the counter w/Geovanni following behind), but he very clearly has shown to me at least that he has everything it takes to play anywhere in the world. Every level he's been at, including limited action at Villarreal, he's shown that potential to be a man among boys.
  23. Whenever he gets healthy. I'm thinking look for him during the October call ups. Damn was hoping for Sept 5th and 9th. The new rules go to effect October 1st. The reason Zamora and the other guy are immediately eligible for T&T is because they had no previous caps with any senior teams. Rules are in effect now -- Jones has a broken leg. I knew I had read somewhere that FIFA hadn't approved him yet, but didn't remember where. No Short Corners had a blurb about it today though. http://www.noshortcorners.com/
  24. http://theoriginalwinger.com/2009-08-22-west-hams-calum-davenport-stabbed-in-own-home#more-19328 That's tragic, but it could mean 90 a game for Spex.
  25. The multiple USA chants were hilarious. He combined awesomely with Ghilas and Geovanni, especially on the counter. Hull may not be all that boring this year. Jozy brings the missing ingredients of pace, touch and strength into their attack. He terrorized Bolton's back line. Those announcers were all over our guy's nuts. I think once he gets his lungs back he'll be fantastic for them. I'm predicting double digit goals. Edit - USS, there's no way United finish outside of the top 4 this year. None. I'd bet on it.
