In general, I'd agree with you. In his individual case, I think he's probably the second best pure forward in our pool, behind Altidore. With Iceland, he's been behind Finnbogason, Sigthorsson, Sigurdarsen, and they've played Sigurdsson up top at times ahead of him as well. I don't know enough about Iceland's NT to determine whether he should be ahead of any of those guys, but he hasn't been, and that's what mattered to Aron. They called him up earlier this year only after it became apparent that he was on Klinsmann's radar and I'd guess that he had enough of waiting for Iceland to show interest.

He ain't. He was in SF, next stop unknown. The fan who tweeted he was going to Seattle on the same flight followed up saying he went to a different gate. He's either taking care of some personal stuff, or he's joining a new club touring the US (Everton, Juve, Roma). All I know is I wouldn't mind him leaving Spurs and also that silly season is awesome. Some random US fan tweets and it melts down the Internet.

In addition to bigger and more appearance bonuses, getting to play in multiple world cups (up to 3) and an easier shot at minutes, there's always that huge, often undeserved MLS contract at the end of your career to consider too.

So, the Sounders want Clint Dempsey to play for them, for a lot of money, when he returns to MLS. They're courting him already and it got out. And then MLS twitter melted down into an insane puddle of craziness. Clint Dempsey is not coming to MLS in the next 3 years. Probably more.

This Gareth Bale transfer saga is mind-blowing. He's really good. He is not 100,000,000 euro + Coentrao good. He's 50,000,000 MAYBE. Not sure what Real Madrid saw last year that I didn't. Spurs should take that deal and laugh their asses off.

Mexico does this inexplicably. They lose confidence for whatever reason (the Jamaica draw?), despite having superior talent and having just come off some of the greatest achievements in their program's history and it trickles down from the squad that experienced the confidence loss into the entire program. It's trickle-down suckanomics. Then it just snowballs until they change their coach and everything is fine again.

Last he spoke on the US, he said he wanted to take part in a camp before he made his choice. I wonder how the style of play, success and amount of goals they've been scoring since the Belgium friendly made him decide he couldn't afford to wait. What's most encouraging about him is his highlights. The variety and technique of his goals. After that, it's pretty impressive how he led the Danish league in goals, transferred to an entirely new league while rehabbing and injury and then scored 3 in 5 in a totally new environment.

It's not a slim fit, but it also doesn't stretch much. Yeah, the Centennial jersey is right on the money for standard t-shirt sizing in my experience.

It's tough because behind our A forwards we have dudes who can finish at the intl level or get themselves in great positions at the intl level but not both. EJ is the latter. Wondo the former. We'll see if someone like Aron Johansson or Julian Green join up and can provide depth.
