Bedoya tracks back much faster and with Mexico's attacking strength on the left and Fab playing wrong-sided, it makes sense. He's (Bedoya) been playing RB at Nantes and was their MOTM vs PSG so he's probably the better/more experienced defender.
So, obviously, [expletive] Joel Campbell, I hope he pulls a Vela and never makes it at Arsenal. Also, is there an appeals process to get Besler reinstated so we can not have to watch Goodson v Chicharito?
Btw, I'm still pretty annoyed by Jermaine Jones & Geoff Cameron last night. Fine players but seemingly incapable of understanding the differences in roles playing without Bradley. Jones should have moved up and been a deep distributor (like he is at Schalke) and Cameron stayed back to break up counters resulting from our high pressure. Instead they both kind of settled in the middle not knowing what ground to cover. Klinsmann's system really relies on smart fullbacks and center mids. We got none of that last night without Evans and Bradley. This was Besler's first real shocker for the Nats and its because there was so much empty space where the center mids should've been covering that he had to step up way too high to cover Campbell or Ruiz. Omar had to step up way too wide to cover for Orozco. Kinsmann has had a lot of success with the center backs pinched close and stepping up high when Jones and Bradley pressed defensively but CR really did an awesome job spreading them out. Howard never coming off his line to challenge crosses didn't help with Besler trying to catch up to Campbell either. Howard is a fine keeper but man, he does not react well to adversity. He spazzes out and gets indecisive.
I have no words for the sorrow with which that picture fills me. An invincible hero brought low by a single, Achillesian weakness. An injury no man could inflict, merely fate's cruel hand. Woe unto us.
