  1. Why, Marmol, why? Oh, and Heilman getting ready to come in with men on. Terrific.
  2. Gorzelanny will wear no. 22 when he gets called up. May he continue that number's long-standing tradition of sustained excellence.
  3. The quiet irony of this is just staggering. And the guy was never even heard singing "Go Go White Sox" in a bar.
  4. In recent years, the Cubs have done so poorly at places like Florida and Arizona that at this point, I almost don't expect their performance at those stadiums. What I mean by this is that it feels like the Cubs could be 10 over .500 on the road and they'd still go 2-4 on a trip through Florida and Arizona.
  5. Even more obnoxious is how the Cubs can handily take 3 of 4 from the Astros and then just completely shut down in all facets just from going down the Florida.
  6. Apparently the LaRoche deal is LaRoche for Kotchman, straight up. Why?
  7. Justin Masterson and Nick Hagadone supposedly going in the other direction.
  8. I have no problem with that. Woody's not even been gone a full season; the equipment staff will keep no. 34 out of circulation for a few seasons like they did for Sammy's no. 21 and re-issue it again in 2011 or 2012.
  9. Will Wang ever be able to penetrate the Yankees' rotation again after this surgery?
  10. Screw you Hart. 2 of Matsui's 4 HRs this season have come against the Cubs.
  11. Must be a lot of players unhappy with Bucknor.
  12. Did today's video session forget to include the reminder that Ortiz isn't good?
  13. 2009 vs. CHC: 3 appearances (2 starts), 0-1, 13 H, 5.06 ERA (6 ER in 10.1 IP), 10 BB, 12 K, 2.16 WHIP, .310 BAA Which more or less guarantees he goes 7 scoreless tomorrow.
  14. Two hours before first pitch, always.
  15. I maintain that the Dodgers can go straight to hell. [expletive]s.
  16. Cubs usually take BP first, so if you enter the park at the earliest opportunity, you should see both teams take BP.
