  1. To be fair, the sombrero's a bit much, but with all the community involvement Pujols does, how do you know Pujols has not in fact taken a lawn mower and mowed his lawn?
  2. Colvin wearing no. 19, for anyone who was waiting.
  3. Shouldn'ta let him.
  4. DFA doesn't necessarily equal release. If Diamond stays with the organization, it just means he's off the 40-man, a move they could easily reverse in the offseason.
  5. So's they don't take away this neat Audio King title I have... http://home.comcast.net/~bcvm22/cubs/9202009.mp3
  6. If the Cubs could collectively remember this time that Looper sucks, that'd be greaaaaat...
  7. Cubs.com also confirms in the game recap, in case anyone was unconvinced.
  8. If it's something you're able to do, then the glue wasn't all that strong in the first place.
  9. Maybe, maybe not. The source is an AP article that in turn sources... nothing. Entirely possible that an AP writer simply caught where one of the local rags says "Colvin could be called up if Bradley's done." Tomorrow will tell the tale, I imagine.
  10. ...you've not checked Cubs Discussions today, have you?
  11. New teeth to replace those still lodged in the left-center field wall.
  12. Fox must have pissed in Lou's coffee or something. "Well, uh, I, uh... look, is this Sweet and Low?"
  13. By tomorrow, I would imagine. If this was a decision made entirely today, they might not have had time to make the decision and get someone else to St. Louis in time.
  14. You can say a lot about Hendry, but trades have been the one facet where he's largely done a commendable job. I don't think he's going to give up the top stars of a rapidly rising system to get a mediocre meatball like Dan Uggla. Free agency is where you have to worry about him paying through the noise.
  15. It is going to be mighty tough to swallow when Ryan or Ludwick or Ankiel or Greene hits a 110-foot bloop single that drives in the winning run of the World Series and gets an MVP trophy or a pickup truck or whatever they give out these days.
  16. Was Ben heard singing "Deep in the heart of Texas" at any local watering holes?
  17. You can't really hit a walkoff on the road, so...
  18. Fuld has a thumb injury that keeps him from batting - he can only play defense at this point. That's why they brought up Taguchi. There's no excuse for Scales over Fox, though.
