    If Soto performs 3/4 as well as every publication and expert seem to think he will, he'll be a stud.

    That would make quite a bit of sense if it removed the stipulations regarding Lahey being a Rule V pick. It means the Cubs could put him at Iowa for a while rather than keeping him up just so they didn't have to offer him back to Minnesota.

    By all accounts, Lou wants to make sure he can do it solely for emergency purposes should the need arise. Given the professional attitude Kosuke's shown thus far, I can't imagine he's objecting too audibly about playing the position, for one, two, maybe three days, in spring training. It's not as if the Cubs said "Hey Kosuke, you might want to get used to center field, you're gonna be there for a while..."
