It's really quite fascinating, isn't it? That we're as excited about bringing in a guy who won't throw a single pitch, swing the bat even once or spend a second in the dugout as we collectively were for any [attempted] big-name free agent/trade acquisition the Cubs have made/tried for in the last five years.

One imagines that's the case here, that Boston doesn't want Theo taking the best young executives from their front office with him. I can't see the Cubs having any problem with it - if they think enough of Theo to go through the process of talking to him and (hopefully) hiring him, I can't imagine they're going to balk at him wanting to bring a few of his handpicked lieutenants with him.
