    Rumor has it we're aquiring someone on Thursday, maybe Wednesday. They say hes pretty good. Former second baseman. Doesn't count.

    No no, the response has to be acquiring a player of the same position from the West Coast. He's clearly going to acquire Jeff Kent. Actually, would that be a terrible idea as a RH bat with power off the bench if the Dodgers agree to pay some of the $9 mil he's owed this year? He'd be a free agent after the season.

    And it's worth noting that he threw all of 7, count 'em 7 low-stress pitches today. One figures he'll be okay to go tomorrow if needed.

    If the player is Adam Loewen (and Adam Loewen who's trying to pull an Ankiel, no less), can it be that hard? Can't they place him on waivers/DFA him for purposes of sending him back to the minors and, given the player, not have to worry about another team claiming him if they try?
