    Puerto Rico beats the Netherlands 4-0 and wins Pool D (Geo catches all 9 innings, goes 1-4 with an RBI, a walk and a strikeout, now hitting .375 for the Classic). If the current Venezuela/USA score holds up, the matchups to start Round 2 will be Netherlands vs. Venezuela and USA vs. Puerto Rico.

    Geo stared down the vegetarian water buffalo that is Prince Fielder as he rumbled towards the plate and gave not an inch to the gargantuan oaf. Compared to that, Randall Simon must have seemed like a house cat.

    They're playing Venezuela tomorrow. What a win or a loss does as far as Round 2 depends on who wins tomorrow's Netherlands/Puerto Rico game.
