  1. Make sure we leave Petrick out of the mix! If we have to mix another starter in the trade maybe throw Marshall or Hill in there to get the deal done. One last thing we need to get something beside Tex, we would need another minor leaguer or two like we got in the Nomar deal with Murton.
  2. I like Tajeda a lot but I don't think the time is right to aquire him. The risk might be worth it but I don't think it will happen.
  3. To do this deal would be great if he can play RF and if we don't give up the future.
  4. A trade of that magnitude would have an affect on the Cubs for years to come in a negative way! IMO
  5. I don't hate the kid I just hope He pulls a muscle.......clean off the bone :?
  6. Jeff Blauser to me was the biggest bust in free agency for the Cubs running a close second would have to be Danny Jackson!
  7. Have you seen some of the pitching performances by Marquis this year and Marshall and Hill in my mind are going through growing pains. Let's hope that Hill has the kind of September this year he did last year. The Cubs can hit a homer ever inning but if the pitcher can't hold the lead what good is that. That's my thought.
  8. Another starter to put into the mix just in case someone has a major meltdown is needed. On the other hand another right handed power bat wouldn't hurt neither.
  9. No No to WilyMo, as far as Santana you can never have to much pitching!
  10. Reading some of the threads I see someone got info that the Cubs were scouting Reggie Sanders. I didn't want to mention he's name after all just hours after suggesting we could get Jason Kendall Mr. Hendry did just that. Do you think he reads this forum? Any who Hey Jim if Reggie is not suitable see if you could get Rob Deer to come out of retirement maybe he could be our Julio Franco.
  11. Gee it is sad to see someone just throw away an opportunity like he has. What did he do early that got him the suspension by the Marlins?
  12. Cause He's really God and knows the outcome of the game and just can't contain Himself! :D
  13. Honestly I'd rather see him mobbing his teammates after the third out of the deciding game of the World Series. Anything extra he gets will just be the icing on the cake.
  14. Matt Stairs well now that is an interesting move! I liked Mr. Stairs his first tenure with my beloved Cubs, bring him back for an encore!
  15. greatly put! I think the Cubs have the formula that can keep them competitive for years to come if they don't get stupid and go after wash ups!
  16. It's nice to see that the Cubs are not afraid to give the minor leagues a look at for more then just a September call up. I hope Fox comes up and puts a few out onto Waveland for Lou and Jim or better yet do a Glenallen Hill and put one onto the roof across the street. In past years it seems that the Cubs get that big name bat just as they are sliding down the hill of mediocrity.(hope I spelled that right, still not awake yet) Giving up the fine young talent that could have helped them for years to come and just not for the year that is now. Hopefully we see Pie again this year along with anyone else who can make a big splash for the Cubs!
  17. Horrible for Carpenter great pitcher! Great break for The Cubs not just for the remainder of this year but they won't have to see him much or all of next year either.
  18. Now that Kendall is on board instead of posting how much he sucks let's get behind this deal and hope that what fire has ignited in the Cub clubhouse will ignite Kendall back to his former self. Success is just like losing it's contagious. The majority of us who put our thoughts in these forums actually know that when it comes down to it we really don't know how to be a GM and all the dynamics of it. Is this good or bad only the next what 70 games or so will prove it. I'm just excited to sit and watch games again with a sense that we are going to win the game. My gut tells me the dealing is not done and the Cubs will make a bigger splash before the month is up. Go Cubs and Mr. Kendall welcome to Chicago! :D
  19. I will never make a suggestion again in my life. Wow Me and Hendry on the same page.
  20. He might bring just enough to the table for the next 3 months to get the Cubs over for this year and Hendry can go after a long term solution this winter!
  21. If the Cubs can't get Posada what about Jason Kendall. He is struggling this year but maybe a change back to the NL is what he needs. Probably can get him for a low level talent and a box of baseballs.
  22. Well if mid-level talent is all it would take to get Hip Hip Jorge(great commercial) then I guess it would be worth it. :D
  23. No doubt that Posada is an upgrade from what we have now. Is he worth what it would cost the Cubs. I don't see a senerio of him resigning? Right now Barry Foote out of retirement is better then what we have. One question though I haven't heard much but didn't La Duca get in a little trouble earlier in the year with his teammates maybe he's an option?
  24. Now would the acquiring of Arod involve a extension. I thought I read somewhere that Boras is trying to get him to be the first 30 mil a year player. That is a big risk to take and Posada might look good in the lineup this year but he is just a bandaid for a festering sore! Soto should get a good look at and get rid of Bowen or Hill or both if Hank White is healthy. ](*,)
