  1. lol Shame on me for not agreeing with the Hawk Harrelson of the Hawks thread on NSBB. :-)) Sorry about the misunderstanding...I was agreeing with what you said nilodnayr I knew you were...my response was to the lol :D
  2. Now thats a crap call. Buff clamped down on his stick and it fell out of his hands because he was holding it like a p@ssy.
  3. lol Shame on me for not agreeing with the Hawk Harrelson of the Hawks thread on NSBB. You're on the other end of the extreme... "LET EVERYTHING GO!" There are scrums after plays which is a part of playoff hockey. Typically it includes 2 teams involved in the scrum and the refs just let it go because it's emotion because of the playoffs. Then you have those times where one team makes run/cheap shots players whether it be before or after the whistle trying to make them retaliate... usually it works after a time or two. THEN you have the team who is getting completely demolished in a playoff series who tries to win by being cheap players. When the actually skilled team just takes crosschecks/face washes/slashes/punches/dirty hits and do not retaliate. You HAVE to call this BS after awhile. It's ridiculous they let THAT MANY calls go uncalled, and obviously I'm not alone here. A)Its not just playoffs, its all hockey. This isn't basketball. B)Actually that first one where Ollie blatantaly railroaded Jharlmarson was pretty blatant and not a scrum and the refs called that one. That situation was way different than any of the scrums that followed. C)Its amazing how you can watch these scrums and see the blackhawks as not part of it at all.."OMG Walker got elbowed! Somehow I didn't see him wash out Iginla, it looked to me like he was reading bedtime stories to children in the cancer ward of a hospital, those refs hate cancer-ridden children because they aren't calling a penalty on the flames!"
  4. and by playing half their games against the Nationals Great showing against those Buccos!
  5. lol Shame on me for not agreeing with the Hawk Harrelson of the Hawks thread on NSBB.
  6. Yeah, Walker was just trying to wipe a smudge off of Iginla's face, how could Jarome get that upset?!?! He got elbowed. But I thought he wasn't retalliating? Face it buddy, these scrums after freezes are normal for hockey, they're a give and take. Get used to it and stop complaining. Its not that the refs are out to get the hawks when out of 6 scrums there are no calls...maybe its that you don't know what should be a penalty in hockey (especially after a whistle). I know you watch a ton of hockey, plenty enough to know this, but it seems like it hasn't sunk in.
  7. Yeah, Walker was just trying to wipe a smudge off of Iginla's face, how could Jarome get that upset?!?!
  8. Just imagine sitting in front of that douche
  9. that was pretty amazing, you have no momentum, one of the better hitters in the league coming down on you and you give him the worst of it...very impressive.
  10. Ehh, thats fairly normal after the whistle action Watch the next time it happens behind the Flames net and the Hawks get a penalty, just wait. Yes yes, we know you think the refs are out to get the Hawks. No, I think the Hawks are playing smart and not retaliating. How many times is this crap allowed to happen without the Hawks retaliating for them to call a penalty? Where is the line drawn? Playoffs or not. Remember, this is hockey not basketball, you're allowed to touch the opponent.

  12. Ehh, thats fairly normal after the whistle action
  13. Don't lose the momentum, keep on playing like you are and that one won't matter.
  14. Jeez, you gotta put that to the net when you're skating through the middle of the box on the PP.
  15. And the celtics win it on a 3 from ray allen with 2 seconds left...so the game should be on soon.
  16. CSN is probably blacked out because the bulls game is still on and its also on TNT. Once the game is over, I'm guessing they'll put it back up. For those in chicago, turn to 285 (unless you want to watch the last 12 seconds of a tied up bulls game).
  17. Ehh, its better than the angle that they had at MSG, I'll take a bit too close to the ice any day over a camera from the friggin roof. Jeez, the flames are trying to turn this into a Philly/Pitt game.
  18. Kane with the flu, don't think we'll miss him.
  19. and by playing half their games against the Nationals
  20. I'm not a fan of the players' union, but I wish they would push for more player rights when situations like this occur. It's like MLB is in lock-step with the umpires' union. As somebody who umps very competitive youth baseball I understand the idea that you can get chucked for any arguing of the zone, but sometimes in situations like that on what I'm sure Vanover thought was a border-line call you have to use your judgment and let the guy give off some steam. I wouldn't make a report on a player who barely, incidentally touched me when I made a "borderline" call in his opposition in such a big situation. To be fair though, the rule is in place so umps don't have to/aren't allowed to be subjective on the arguing of balls/strikes. Everyone knows that rule, if you break it you get thrown out. Similarly with having to file a report if there is contact. From what I understand its not the ump to determine if it was incidental or not, but I could be wrong. And on a side note I've really never understood how you get around not arguing balls/strikes. Sure seems to me that theres a lot of bickering when a player is upset with a call and not everyone gets thrown out.
  21. Two reasons. 1. I don't know when Weiters is going to be called up. 2. Snyder isn't do anything so far this year and trading an OF for a C would allow me to drop Snyder and pick up a setup man so I can compete in holds. Basically I don't have anyone to drop to pick up a setup man, but I have 6 solid outfielders that can only play 4 spots (which includes the Util spot) so instead of dropping one of the outielders I would use them to upgrade from Snyder to Sandoval/Posada and then drop Snyder for a setup man. How much of an upgrade is snyder to sandoval/posada? Frankly I don't think that much. Don't get wrapped up in the fact that a guy doesn't start off the season well. Why don't you just trade one of those solid OFs for a really good set up man, rather than making a relatively lateral move at catcher by thinning out your OF depth to pick up a freely available player?
  22. Sandoval's value is shaky now that the Giant's picked up McPhearson and Posada has a decent chance of being replacement level. Why are you trading for a third catcher???
  23. Well I don't know what speed he hit but he pitched a scoreless inning allowing one hit and one walk. He also three 12 of 22 pitches for strikes. His fastball was topping out at 73. I thought I read 80.
  24. People remember Porcello being a top 5 talent draft pick who fell to the Tigers at the end of the first round due to $ demands. He was quite frankly awesome as an amatuer. However, A LOT of the fantasy upside that he had as worn off as hes made himself into a professional pitcher. Hes sacrificed a lot of his Ks to be a better all around pitcher and while thats great for him and the tigers in real life, it means that hes going to be at best an average fantasy pitcher for the next few years, with quite a bit of risk given his experience and age. If your pitching really sucks, thats fine to have him in your rotation, but don't expect big upside. Scherzer on the other hand has a pretty good chance of being one of the best K pitchers in the league. I'd drop Porcello for Scherzer in a second.
