  1. I believe Muschamp is Auburn's first choice, but they will be competing with A&M, FSU, and potentially the NFL for his services. It's definitely not a slam dunk. I'm hearing that South Carolina is another option and Muschamp could take over eventually (soon) for the ol' ball coach.
  2. I'm pleased to see they acted swiftly on this. I'm not sure if it will be Muschamp, but it would be great to get the new guy in place quickly so he can begin installing his defense and hit the recruiting trail.
  3. Iu doesn't have a tournament team again this year. I didn't think Crean was very good before Zeller got there. They underperformed in 2012-2013 with a ton of talent, and they aren't good now. When does the guy get fired? I'm not a fan.
  4. My focus is on next season. Gus needs to do everyone a favor and start Jeremy Johnson at qb for the last three games. get Nick Marshall reps at cornerback as that is really his only shot at the nfl. Fire Ellis Johnson, and make Muschamp the highest paid defensive coordinator in the country.
  5. So does Muschamp land another head coaching position? I'd take him as Auburn's defensive coordinator again.
  6. Auburn has given up on the season. Malzahn's play calling in the first half was super conservative, and this game got away from them. I expect a new defensive coordinator next season.
  7. Laquon Treadwell tweeting words of support to Duke: Laquon Treadwell @SuccessfulQuon Follow Praying for you Big Dawgg #1 stay positive and keep your chin up, better days to come! God has this! 6:57 PM - 8 Nov 2014
  8. Duke sprained the mcl in his right knee, but no torn ligaments and no surgery needed. He may be out for the year though. Wondering whether this will impact his draft stock substantially.
  9. Heartbreaker yesterday. Auburn just made too many mistakes...2 fumbles in the last three minutes. Maybe next year..
  10. Jesus Christ, man. they've beaten the # 7, 11, and 16 teams in the playoff poll with two of those on the road. I don't care how badly their secondary has played the last two games; their offense is now firing on all cylinders. There isn't another 1 loss team or any other team for that matter with three better wins than that right now. They should beat A&M. They will be favored to beat Georgia on the road. Then, they will probably be a slight dog in Tuscaloosa unless Bama craps the bed the next couple of weeks.
  11. The line started at -14.5 and went to -20 within an hour or so. There had to be some major money put on that early line. After watching the South Carolina - AU game, I wouldn't put my money on Auburn winning by more than 20. The secondary has really struggled the last few games. I do think auburn will get to the qb some this game with the current condition of the A&M OL and potentially cause a turnover or two.
  12. I'm pretty sure Auburn will put up a lot of points on this A&M team. I'm not sure whether the defense will make Kyle Allen look like a world beater in his second game starting. I'll go with Auburn by 2 touchdowns.
  13. I definitely feel bad for you. I hate to win on a play like that, but at the same time, I love to win. Without the fumble, I still had hope that with 1 minute 30 left in the game, AU would get in at least field goal position to tie it. I'm not Nick Marshall's biggest fan. He's great at extending plays, he is very slippery, but he's not an NFL quarterback. This year, he almost always focuses on Duke Williams, and he hasn't been spreading the ball around. He often short arms passes to the running back and WR screen passes. He has thrown the ball just accurately enough the past two years to compliment a strong running game. Auburn has two big WRs this year in Duke Williams and Sammie Coates that will be drafted. They both know how to use their body to make space, and they both have the ability to regularly catch the ball in traffic. Ole Miss is really good on third down, the windows they allow are really small, and aren't conducive to Marshall have extended success with mid distance passes. Marshall heaved a couple long ones in the air to Coates, and he made plays. The numbers look good for Marshall, but this was not his best passing game aesthetically. Auburn's backup qb, Jeremy Johnson, is more of the prototypically, tall accurate pocket passer, and I think he's going to be a great one starting next year. As an Auburn fan, I see Gus's alliance as being with Fortuna and not the devil, but yes, this win didn't really feel like a win until I woke up this morning, and it does fall into the same category as the win against Georgia last year. I do believe AU had a legitimate shot at quickly driving the ball to get a field goal to tie it if the fumble didn't exist. From a non-Auburn fan's perspective, what do you think about Gus? He says all of the right things in his interviews, gives all of the credit to his players, and just seems to be a pretty likeable guy overall if you aren't playing against him. Cameron Artis-Payne has really turned it on the last few games. I don't think he's doing much differently, but Auburn is blocking better on the edges and even some of the runs that were supposed to go inside, Artis-Payne kicked outside for good yardage. Auburn's running game appears to be back on track.
  14. Yep, feel horribly for Treadwell. Auburn was lucky again to get that win.
  15. Auburn with a ton of penalties so far.
  16. Ole miss should have challenged that spot.
  17. Florida State definitely has a good team, but not as good as last year's team, and they will be beaten in the semifinals if they win the remaining regular season games. Agree..Mississippi State will probably lose to bama.
  18. I'm watching a relay of the ole miss -LSU game, and LSU is really able to move the ball on the ground. They just keep fumbling. If auburn can run the ball , I do see them breaking that streak of games that ole miss has keeping teams to 20 points and under. Auburn plays man to man coverage, so ole miss is going to run a lot of the same rub routes they ran against LSU. Treadwell is going be a problem for AU.
  19. This happened around the same time Saban's agent was talking to Texas, so mystery solved there.
  20. Ole Miss opens as a 3 point favorite. Auburn has a deficiency at defensive end this year. They are ok against the run , but the DEs are not getting a pass rush, so I imagine Bo Wallace will have a decent night through the air. It should be a good game.
  21. btw, the luck auburn had last year is no longer. they've had numerous questionable calls the past two games, but must admit the fairy dust from last year was due to expire.
  22. LSU looking decent tonight.
  23. this auburn defense needs a [expletive] pass rusher, and they just don't have one this year with the injury to Carl Lawson.
