You know what I love about this board? That absolutely no one goes to extremes or jumps to irrational conclusions. Me asking what the reasoning behind him hitting 8th was in no way saying whether I agreed or didn't agree. It certainly should not have sparked 4 or 5 random comments that ultimately are unhelpful. I thought my comment was helpful. To drive in Soto and to get on base for Soriano. That was a helpful comment and a well thought out response. which is why I didn't quote it when referring to the others.

Thats rich It's simply astounding to me that pages 3-8 of every single game thread turn into a bitch session about Murton not being in the lineup. And if he's in the lineup, about where Murton is hitting in the lineup. The amount of bandwidth wasted on this site about Matt Murton is atonsishing. And that's from someone who thinks he should be playing every day in RF. Yup its assanine for us Cubs fans to keep talking about wanting a guy who is our best option in RF at the moment but doesnt seem to regularly get playing time. Then you'd think that when he does play, people would be happy about that rather than bitching about some perceived slight arising from his position in the batting order. I think it was more about being surprised seeing him hit 8th, I know I was when I heard Lou on the pregame. Lou has a tendency to put our catchers and/or young kids 8th so I was really surprised to see it. How about the no swearing thing? Or is that all a fallacy in my head?

Its a sensible question seeing as I dont believe hes ever hit 8th before with Lou here, and I dont know if he has even with Dusty here. Thanks. He kills lefties...when will he start doing that for us exactly? The same way that a Cadinals uniform resurrects long-gone (or never-existing) ability from corpses, so is the Cubs uniform itself completely incapable of hitting lefties. Sounds plausible; I like it. Well, I don't like it, but I like the reasoning.
