  1. Everytime I watch ESPN, I see a G.M. Jr. reference on the crawl and I cringe at the thought of what might have been. They don't usually reference you there, if you're stinking it up and his name always seems to be up there. I really liked the way he played.
  2. He just finished a 50 day suspension for roids, and started a new cycle after the WBC. While I doubt that to be the case, I actually heard some local idiot sports radio guys seriously speculate that that may be the case. On a side note, why is my font screwed up and how do I change it back to normal?
  3. He's becoming quite Jordan-esque w/ his retirement situation. It's okay Roger, just let it go.
  4. Just think how much he'll be making IF he gets shelled in his starts.
  5. I'm probably not the 1st person to suggest this, but they should change the part of 7th inning stretch song that goes, "if they don't win, it's a shame..." to "it's the same".
  6. Why hate the Marlins? Lay the hate where it should be addressed to and that's to the stooges, MacPhail, fat-Hendry and Dude man. No, don't misunderstand. I lay the blame/hate squarely at the feet of the Cubs management for putting together this dreadful excuse of a team. However, that has very little to bearing on the fact that the Marlins have won 2 WS in their short existence, 1 of which was at the Cubs expense. That and they seemingly have the Cubs number.
  7. As if I needed more reason, I've decided that I hate the Marlins as much as, if not more, than the Astros.
  8. I do care, but I don't waste much time dwelling on it anymore these days. And for all those "chicken littles", it is still far too early to give up on the entire season, although, I'll admit it doesn't look good.
  9. Inevitably, had the Cubs decided to keep Nomar, he would have wound up injured. You know the whole "Murphy's Law" thing!
  10. Just as a point of clarification and so as to avoid the confusion experienced by myself and others during Friday's game, the WGN portion of the broadcast is of the radio variety, correct?
  11. Because it's not on WGN The thread title says otherwise
  12. I love Walker, but that is CLASSIC CUBS stuff.
  13. You guy may see something I didn't, but I'm not sure how that didn't hit him.
  14. At 5'7"-5'8" and 205 lbs (mostly muscle) with a decent arm and quick, explosive reflexes, I'm guessing I'd make a mean backstop or possibly a power hitting right fielder.
  15. I've never hated the Cards so much as I have the Astros. I appreciate the intensity of the Cubs/Cards rivalry, but some of their (Card's) fans are a bit overbearing.
  16. I would hope most here would get that!!! And I loved him as a player, but he's wearing thin on me as an analyst.
  17. No disrespect to "The Babe", but I'd have a tough time telling him and Ponson apart.
  18. You have a lot more confidence in Hairston than I do. I don't care how hard he supposedly worked this off-season, I've just not been impressed by him or his ability to stay healthy. That said, if he does start most of the time, I will be pulling for him to succeed.
  19. Glad to see your on the wagon for now. That's got to be mighty hard for you to swallow, given the level of "hatred"/rivalry between the 2 schools.
