  1. Did Barrett get hit in the face? Looks like there's a mark next to his eye
  2. That is confusing as hell. 2 catchers, no second baseman...nm, i have no idea where youre going with this. I'm assuming you're poking fun at Baker's inability to create a lineup :?
  3. Yeah, he posted earlier a while back... he's skeptical like many of us are. Just wondering...how does Hoops always seem to have the insider info? Is he just really smart...or does he have a job which enables him to inherit information of some sort? It just seems like whenever rumors come up everyone wants his input...and I saw he was poster of the year before. He has friends/aquaintences that are Beat Writers, i do beleive. Thanks!

  5. No, no...seems to me that's just the golden rule of the Cubs
  6. Wow. You never cease to amaze me Fred. Ya know, sometimes I even surprise myself ! mhuber92211 asked me if I could find a way to track such things..... and by golly, I figured it out. Ahem...I believe that was me 8) But anyway...have you come up with something terms of strength of the streak, or is it just the Cubs chances after a win or after a loss? Sherwood.... yes, indeed that was you. Forgive me for my "senior moment" there. not sure how you would define the strength of a streak, I'm just taking the CUBS' W/L record after a win, after 2 wins, after 3 wins...... and coversely after a loss, 2 losses...... etc, etc. W L pct after 9 losses 0 0 0.000 after 8 losses 1 0 1.000 after 7 losses 1 1 0.500 after 6 losses 0 2 0.000 after 5 losses 0 2 0.000 after 4 losses 1 2 0.333 after 3 losses 2 3 0.400 after 2 losses 7 5 0.583 after 1 loss 5 12 0.294 First game 1 0 1.000 after 1 win 14 4 0.778 after 2 wins 6 8 0.429 after 3 wins 3 3 0.500 after 4 wins 2 1 0.667 after 5 wins 1 0 1.000 after 6 wins 1 0 1.000 after 7 wins 0 1 0.000 after 8 wins 0 0 0.000 after 9 wins 0 0 0.000 after 10 wins 0 0 0.000 Awesome! It was actually a lot easier than I thought I guess, that's exactly what I was looking for. Man...we sure seem to be a streaky/momentum team. One more favor...could you also add in the overall win % after a win and after a loss? Just by looking at this it seems like it's an extreme difference. Thanks a lot!

  8. attend more games please Give me your tickets please
  9. Well something's gotta give...the Cubs are like 10-2 the last 3 years when I have been in attendance..but on the other hand...they really, really, really suck.
  10. P.S. The other thing the papers down there made very clear: the Marlins were very embarrassed about being man-handled by our Cubs. McKeon was even quoted to say that a sleeping giant may have been awoken. The Pirates series is huge for psyche - players, team and ours. I'm confused...was he saying that the Cubs were the sleeping giant, or that the Cubs made the Marlins look bad and it was a wake-up call for them?
  11. I was wondering the same thing...in fact...which of the current Cubs chew tobacco?
  12. Sherwood what do you mean? He kinda jumped out and held his hand on Adam's chest as if trying to calm him down, make sure he didn't roll around just in case (from his angle it might have appeared as if the ball caught him right in the back of the head/neck area) and you always want to be careful with the neck/spine/etc, of course I could be overreacting and he might have just been asking him if he was ok
  13. Props to LoDuca, he sure jumped out there right away to make sure he didn't roll around just in case.
  14. aw crap...you've gotta be kidding me!
  15. Wow...web jem...and Todd...you were out
  16. That idea has some real merit. I gotta think about that one the next time I can't sleep !! It seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to find out. You could just take the result after a loss, and the result after a win...and then you've just have 2 different winning percentages, right?
  17. No, I sure don't. But you just gave me a great idea for next year !! Do you have a stat that would explain how streaky the Cubs are? Example: If the Cubs lost the day before, there is a 75% chance they will lose again today, etc.? It sure seems like we never win/lose/win/lose...it's always lose/lose/lose/lose/lose/win/win/win/win etc.
  18. Ramirez isn't in the on deck circle...Macias is. Hopefully it's precautionary.
  19. where have these 1-2 hitters been all year? Oh yeah.
  20. Thanks for visiting us and answering our questions...I really appreciate it! As a youngster did you want to grow up to be a broadcaster? Were you one of those kids who would turn off the volume and do your own play by play? How did you get involved with broadcasting baseball? If you played it, do you ever find yourself telling stories about your playing days?
  21. I thought we were supposed to be the Windy City?
  22. Name me a Cub who isn't (other than Lee this season). It seems like we've got an extremely streaky team this year...both in terms of personal performance, and in the standings.
  23. I'm sorry, but I still think the kid is over-rated. JESUS, Z!!!!! Me too...his numbers are great and I see great highlights of him...but I've never actually watched him live and said "wow..he's good"
  24. That was a pretty sick deuce to Walker
  25. It's official...Matt Murton has made everyone on this team better!
