  1. so i'm pretty much all aboard the Mitch Atikins bandwagon 6.0IP, 5H, 1ER, 2BB, 7KK 4-0 with a 1.95 ERA Also i like that after trading off a couple of big time prospect arms, there are some new guys stepping up (Atkins, THE DON, Blackford etc.) I'd like to see some Pawalek action soon, but if this course of action is going to keep his arm healthy that would be awesome.
  2. It's been talked about already how much better Marshall has been at Wrigley and I just read that Maddux is 4-0 in 5 starts at Wrigley (with the no descision being one of the games that Dempster blew, I believe)... so we must devise some sort of scheme so that they always pitch at home. PAGING FRED FOR THE STATS
  3. good thing he's not hitting .234/.269/.301, THAT would be horrible. :( (that would be Juan Pierre's avg/obp/slg)
  4. so is Rapada the real deal?? Or is he just smoke and mirrors sidearm junk stuff that won't translate in the bigs??
  5. I've completly changed my stance on Wood, I was original against the option be picked up but if his arm stays on all year I say Hendry has to pick it up (or work out a new deal). I don't want this to turn into an Alou situation (declining an expensive option and LF hasn't been the same since and he's hitting like crazy since leaving (though not always healthy)).
  6. holy crap i was coming to post the same exact thing, except I don't think I was going to use a colon.
  7. Why Wuertz and not Novoa??
  8. I was at the game.. Blackford's two hits were both playable. the first was a sure base hit up the middle that Johnston made a great play on but threw the ball away throwing to first. The second took a bad hop just over the 3rd baseman's glove. 2 of the 5 walks came to start the 7th inning and were th only two guys he faced. Looking over the stats from the program, and their place in the standings Clinton isn't a very good team, but I though Blackford looked pretty good out there. Clinton also commited 5 error and the scab umps were pretty bad, one got hit with a ground ball and had no idea what to do and eventually called the batter out. I'm not sure if he was calling him out for hitting him or because he was thrown out at first... the reason he was able to be thrown out at first is because the Ump threw up his hands as to call time out so the batter slowed down.
  9. Hendry did this last year too.
  10. Probably 2 or 3 until Marky Mark graces us with his presence. I'd send down Novoa.
  11. I know this doesn't exactly fit here, but since we are getting short reviews of BA content, anybody care to give a little review of what BA has to say about Sean Gallagher in the article about him that's on the front page? Thanks.
  12. ramirez shut us down last year I believe.
  13. THE DON may have to send some of his guys to the MWL offices
  14. Niefi getting boo'd :P and Neifi is trying to bunt :x
  15. And how many walks did we take today? This is priceless. Really it is. walks clog the bases. Philosophical question: how many walks would Cub pitchers have issued if they were facing Cub batters? Sort of the opposite of "irresistable force vs immovable object" Cubs pitching would dominate IMO.
  16. Could be because it's a holiday weekend, alot of out of towners.
