  1. on one hand the Cardinals are being no hit by the Nationals 4th starter through 6, on the other hand that seems like a situation where the Cardinals end up winning by 10
  2. Hopefully they use this jersey for his intro presser [tweet] [/tweet]
  3. Going to be interesting to see the teamwide mutiny if Ross gets hired. No one wants to have that horsefeathers anywhere near the team on a regular basis again. #wherehaveyougoneMarinersRevenge I feel like I'm missing something here. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1004&p=153045#p153045 and the posts around that one
  4. lol did the Cubs poach the Braves organist? [tweet] [/tweet]
  5. Should have juiced it more for postseason
  6. it's always a good time to gaze upon this
  7. am I still suppose to be jealous of the dodgers how many ever division titles in a row?
  8. [tweet] [/tweet]
  9. LEADOFF WALK THE COMEBACK IS ON
  10. they are going to win the World Series
  11. initial arb estimates out from MLBTR.... so using them here's the Cubs 2020 payroll Lester - 20 Heyward - 21 Darvish - 22 Bryant - 18.5 Chatwood - 13 Rizzo - 14.5 Quintana - 10.5 Kimbrel - 16 Hendricks - 12 Baez - 9.3 Russell - 5.1 Schwarber - 8 Descalso - 2.5 Contreras - 4.5 Almora - 1.8 Bote - .96 Italics the arb estimates, bolded the Q & Rizzo options Total: 179.66 Also these otpions Graverman - 3 Phelps - 5 Also not sure where the Morrow (probable) buyout fits in Morrow - 3
  12. I have no idea why Houston trotted Verlander out on short rest. Yeah, I don't get it either. Probably neither will happen but Dodgers and Astros getting knocked out in the divisional round would be wonderful.
  13. The Twins current playoff streak makes the Cubs 9 losses in a row between 2003 NLCS Game 4 and the 2015 Wild Card Game look not so bad
  14. Move Mets to open
  15. Doesn't that option have to be picked up after year 3?
  16. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  17. DAY 1 [tweet] [/tweet]
  18. I want the Dodgers to win the NL but lose in the World Series again
  19. When Nagy's offense was humming last season and he was busting out crazy plays every week I thought they should bring him in as a guy that could run the ball, maybe play a little WR and throw the ball every once in a while. But now that describes what Patterson is supposed to be doing.
  20. Kaepernick spent his last two seasons in the league being benched in favor of Blaine Gabbert and that was over 2 years ago with no football since then. He should have been in the league this time, but he's not the answer for the Bears right now.
  21. With the report of the Nationals offer to Rendon with, surprise surprise, quite a bit of deferred money. I went looking around cots at what deferred money they have out there. The craziest thing to me is that Scherzer is not making any actual salary this season or the next two... of course he's going to be fine and will still get $15 million each of those years out of his signing bonus. Pretty much the entire '20s the Nationals are going to have their own more expensive but yet not as insane Bobby Bonilla day. July 1 '22 - 15 million to Scherzer '23 - 15 million to Scherzer '24 - 25 million to Scherzer & Strasburg '25 - 25 million to Scherzer & Strasburg '26 - 25 million to Scherzer & Strasburg '27 - 25 million to Scherzer & Strasburg '28 - 25 million to Scherzer & Strasburg '29 - 10 million to Strasburg '30 - 10 million to Strasburg They got some other ones hanging out there: they paid Daniel Murphy 2.5 million last January and will pay another 3 this coming January. 2 of Dozier's 9 million dollar 2019 salary will be paid in January 2020. Corbin will be paid 10 million between November '24 and January '26. They owe Matt Wieters 5 million in 2021. There's probably more out there I didn't even see.
  22. They waived Abdullah Anderson yesterday, one was to assume to bring Bray up to the 53. But they just rostered Sowell again. Maybe they've decided if Chase gets hurt in London they'll just say f it and go wildcat the rest of the game.
