    Also fun factoid, this is Maddux's first start in Atlanta since he was a Brave.... to bad it's 2005 Maddux and I'm betting Jones has at least 2 bombs. :(

    If we manage to unload Patterson somewhere or cut him lose (this going on the possibility that he doesn't pick it up) would we be compfortable having Hairston being the everday CF?? I think that's a chance I'd be willing to take. He gets on base and that's one of the things we need, the ohter of course is another guy that can knock him in.

    I think having a guy like Murton is better than having another guy like Jones (pitcher with world of potential, but now injury concerns) in our system.

    To those saying you would trade for Rolen/Pujols straight up with Ramirez/Lee. You forget that as soon as they put on COB uniforms Rolen's bat will forevor look like it did in the WS and he will suddenly be an error machine, and Pujols leg will fall off, and he'll be DL'ed for 5.5 years out of the 6 the Cubs pay him. Than Pujols would sign back with the Cardinals (to a very nomar esque 8mill deal) and hit .443 with a .840OBP, and 83 HR. And during Pujols magical season, Jim Edmonds has signed a huge contract with the Yankees, and held out for so long the Cardinals had no chance to sign some one else. they take a chance on a guy that's been bouncing around AAA teams across the country. he hits .325 with .499OBP and 84SB, at the lead-off spot, his name = Corey Patterson. *Note some numbers are slightly exagerated, but knowing Cub luck vs. Cardinal Luck stuff like this would happen.

    I was at the game Section 111 behind home plate, i think I was near Grant Johnson's parents - she was the only person that clapped when they announced his name and when he was getting shelled she looked a bit nervous.

    I also so Neifi botch a bunt with 2 on and nobody out, just before the Barrett DP, really set the tone for the game that was on the field. Another thing is it was such a wierd crowd. So many people were wearing Cubs stuff, but than rooting for the Cougars. It was a wierd rooting for the home team against the home team thing. Funny exchange Announcer "Now batting # 4 second baseman, Eric Patterson" Person 1 "Oh yeah that's Corey's Brother, of the Cubs Corey Patterson's brother." Person 2 "Oh really" Person 3 "What" Person 1 "that's Corey Patterson's brother" Person 3 "His name is Corey too????" (I was like WTF) Person 1 "No, it's .... I don't remember" Eric fly's out Person 1 "Way to go Patterson, you hit like your brother."

    I think Maddux has been hanging around Dempster, first the Buehrle comment and now this gem.. Does this make sense to anybody.... So three more at bats where he didn't do anything against him gives Patterson an advantage :roll: GO COBS

    Ok, it was probably a bit than, but he was still old and doing a back flip so he gets some respect from me. Drew Larsen also had a bad night in the field. According to MILB.com's box he only had one Error, but at the park he was charged with 2 (might have been chagned later) and I think he should have had a 3rd.

    Oh, I'm not sure it may have been after you left... Did you see the Chief coach (not sure which one) have the dance off with the "Zooperstar" thing. He pulled off a back flip :shock:

    I think we got there at 4:30 and left at 10:30. The Harvey home run was in the 6th, right after you left :( Is the one video you are refering not directly related to the game, because I can think of something that happened on the field that would be funny to see again.

    Hmmm, I went to the Peoria Chiefs 21-2 spanking, and spent some time getting rained on. I'm pretty sure that I still made the better choice than watch this game... :(

    LOL, I stayed for the entire 9 innings of beatdown. Fuld diving Catch was great, Patterson looked sweet getting to that grounder but than threw it away. I called the Harvey bomb also, but I said it would go over the Bud sign (which would have to have been an impossible BOMB) but it was still awesome to see (2 Chief games, 2 harvey bombs.) Johnson was dissapointing but the Cougars were smacking every pitcher around.

I find it kind of funny how all of the lowest bonuses (besides of course those with no bonuses) are all White Sox contracts. Every player must get the same base incentive package from Kenny Williams. I think it's pretty bogus that, at least one of them possibly two won't get their bonuses of a "measly" 15,000 due to both the pitchers have starting clauses on top of that. (nevermind I notice that they get extra for starting.) Hmmm, all of the St. Louis players get 50,000. Except for Pujols who is 25,000. Makes you wonder how Agents and GM/Owners sit down and haggle of things like this in contracts.
