  1. Good point, TY.
  2. I have decided that it is too painful to watch the Cubs play. I refuse to watch/listen to them for the rest of the Season. Do they deserve to have the ratings of their Faithful Following anymore if they play the way they have this year? IMO, no. Yes I am, and always will be, a Cub fan.....but if I want to watch below the Major League level in baseball, I will gladly go support my local Rockford Riverhawks. It is apparent that we should consider ourselves lucky that we are even close to being a .500 team, which, IMO, is ridiculous. With the talent we have, we should be alot better....but talent can't work alone. Go 2006 Cubbies P.S. Mods, maybe this is a Rant, not sure. Move please if not in the correct section.
  3. Objective: Cubs pitchers DON'T serve up long ball while the Rockies pitchers DO  Go Cubs!! We need a sweep boys.
  4. Wow that was a close pitch.... Maddux-esk
  5. ARam creepin up there in the rbi line, 89 on the year, nice.
  6. Hopefully he reacts to flu-like symptoms like Michael Jordan did a couple of years back!! No doubt!! hehe Atta boy Lawton
  7. Need a big night from the bats.....pleeeeaaaase And of course, Z to be Z....hope he's feeling good enough to pitch well.
  8. Where's that coming from? I know his option isn't likely to vest, but I figured at the price of the team option, he'd be a lock to return. The way I see it he cleared waivers, his option won't vest, he's getting older, and we also have Hairston. I may be in the minority here, but Hairston hasn't shown me anything great really, maybe with more constant playtime he will come around, could just be me in general hehe.
  9. Only thing that concerns me with the Rockies is playing them at Home, with our tendancy to give up the long ball as of late.
  10. If I had my druthers, I'd keep him AND sign another starter or TWO, because I don't trust Wood's shoulder or whatever it may be next year. (I'm sure I'm not alone there.) Also, now that I finally understand the evil demon that Larry Himes was, I'd be really ticked to see the org screw Maddux again. And it's not like Maddux is washed up. Yes, he does drive me nuts when he gives up multiple HRs in a game, but as I have said before, he still has the uncanny ability to bring the big game just when it's most needed. And his first half was better this year, I THINK - he stepped it up with Wood and Prior out. And the second half is still pretty darn good. Heck, at worst we have a steady innings-eater at the 3rd-5th spot in the rotation. So it's $9 mil - but we have other better players at less than that - I figure it evens out. Plus, if we can pay Sammy $16 mil not to be a Cub and Alou whatever we paid him in severance, $9 mil for a consistently healthy and dependable SP (crossed fingers) is a bargain. What's the commotion? Good post KatJ, I agree 100%.
  11. Agreed, I think the Cards would chew up and spit out the White Sox.
  12. Agree with you 100% 1wiz, he is typically a second half pitcher so hopefully he keeps this up. /cheers to hoping for the last 5 wins(or more  ) to keep his streak alive. Go Cubs
  13. IMO, Mad-Dog will make the appropriate decision. He has stated he doesn't care about the money really, as I am sure he's sitting on a nice chunk of change as it is  I don't see him as being the type of player that comes back to just get his money, if he can't be a force close to what he has in his career, I think he will repsectfully bow out. Just my 2 cents.
  14. IMO, ARam looked GREAT last night in all aspects of his game. Hustled that first double, and some nifty defense as well. Good job ARam!!
  15. I believe Neifi has had decent plate appearances againt Pettite, don't have them handy atm though. Either way, Go Cubs :!: I need to find those stats hehe I think TWalk is O'fer against Pettite as well.
  16. probably just gettting out of the dugout and away from dusty. other than that I can't think of anything he could say that would help. "We have the plane running at the Airport for you for the Flight back to AAA..."
  17. Well, i'm off to go kick up a fire, kids want S'Mores and this is game is killin me. Have a good night folks.
  18. Walked on 5 pitches....and thats only because Berkman swung at ball 4
  19. Get the Gremlin to the pen and warmin up....couldn't be a whole lot worse....
  20. Don't even have to hit Berk in the head and he rolls on the ground....jus get it close  Not to mention we wouldn't be able to locate our punches...
  21. Yeah Ronnie sounds like his ticker's gonna pop.
  22. Heh, he cant get close to the plate....and then of course when he does, they are teeing off.
