  1. Winning has become so common place, there's no excitement to it any more, eh? I disagree. Winning will never get old. Ever.
  2. Really empty forum so far for 10 minutes before gametime on a Saturday afternoon.
  3. I hate it when the Cubs play at noon on Saturday and I have to work at 3.
  4. Was that the game where Wellemeyer got the save in his ML debut?
  5. Len said during the broadcast that it hasn't happened since the '90s...the 1890s. Crazy, huh? Wow. I don't mean to be annoying, but when was the last time (other than now, of course) that we beat any team 10 consecutive times? Does beating themselves count? Cause the Cubs beat themselves 14, 15 times in a row in 1997. Unfortunately, not that, either.
  6. I'd say he doesn't suck. Just imagine how good he'd have been years ago when he had his drug problem. It's kind of a shame. Glad he's clean now, though. He obviously didn't lose his talent.
  7. Holy crap. If he keeps it up he could have 100 rbi before the break.
  8. That's called rape. People have gone to jail for less than that. Marmol, Hill, and Pie alone are too much. If it decimates the team that much to land Holliday, then no thanks.
  9. I love that we're playing the Pirates, but I hate when the Cubs are involved in the only all-NL game during interleague play. I love me some interleague play.
  10. Geovany Soto could beat the AL all-stars by himself.

  12. Have we ever beaten the Pirates 10 times in a row before? If so, I'd be curious to know when the last time was.
  13. This better not be like the game where we blew the 7-0 lead. Ultimately we won, but still.
  14. 2-0. Theriot scores on a groundout by Aram.
  15. Edmonds can take care of that later. *rimshot*
  16. Looks like the Pirates are remembering they're the Pirates.
  17. 5 over. feeling optimistic over there jake? the pirates aren't ready to contend this year IMO, but there have been some promising signs, and i think that neal huntington has the organization headed in a much better direction (granted, it'd be hard to be worse than littlefield) I actually want the Pirates to be good. Not at the expense of us, but like Wild Card good. Yeah, they've been suffering for so long. Hell, even the Rays got it together.
  18. I agree. He got ripped off. If he'd have waited for FA, he easily could have gotten $100 million over the 8 years. It has to be remembered that 3 of these 8 years are years in which the Brewers can pay him the minimum salary in baseball if they so desire (which goes up slightly with every year of experience). Then you have 3 more years in which open bidding can not drive your contract up, and your money is somewhat limited by a certain scale based on your performance. If Braun doesn't sign this deal, there's no way that he makes 100 million over the next 7+ years. He might have made 70-75 if he was really good, but that's kind of doubtful. This is still a stunningly good deal for the Brewers. They have one of the best young sluggers in the game locked up for a pittance for a very long time.
  19. I'm not sure about that. Fielder's not going to stay with the Brewers. I'd look for them to move him before Gamel or LaPorta. One of them (or Braun) could easily move to 1B. If the Brewers are out of it by the trade deadline, they should trade Fielder for young pitching. LaPorta's going to be here soon enough.
  20. tell fukudome sorry for breaking our promise and put him in centerfield. Or, Soriano could still cover enough ground in CF to not be a liability.
