I dunno ... Cubs just got plain beat yesterday. That was pretty painful. I'd rather just get plain beat than give a game away like we did today. It's easier to accept a loss if the other team simply outplayed you. It's another thing entirely if you wrapped the game up in a pretty box and handed it to them.

He needs to be benched for a few games until he gets his crap together. Call Hoff back up for a bit, or play DeRo over there for a while. Yes, he's a stand-up guy, everyone likes him, it'll be hard to do it, but it HAS to be done. He's really hurting the team. And examine that wrist.

I don't think I've been this pissed at this team all year. These are the kind of games that start long slumps. You knew they were due to cool off after being so hot for so long, but I thought they'd at least look like a Major League team.

They really are not a good road team...at all. Not this game, anyway. Good God. I threw the dishtowel at the TV. I guess it's back to doing dishes for me. At least it's less infuriating than watching this team of losers. I hope Piniella is really grilled after the game about the defense. If this team isn't out early taking extra fielding practice tomorrow Lou should be hit in the head with a bat.

Z should have been out of the inning. It shouldn't have even gotten to that point if he has some [expletive] defense behind him.

Ballgame. This team should be kicked in the nuts. There is NO reason for such a piss-poor performance. I can go to my local park on Tuesday evenings and see 8-year-olds who are more fundamentally sound than the Cubs were this inning. I'm not exaggerating.

They're saying it was close, but he was out. I should have known we'd get screwed by Angel Hernandez at least once today. Him and C.B. Bucknor are the 2 worst umpires in baseball.

At least Fontenot isn't completely worthless. I don't know much about bunting technique, but is it better to hold the bat out there like that for all the world to see when sacrificing? That gives the pitcher a big target. Wouldn't you be better squaring around when the pitcher is in his windup?
