    13. With the lack of picks from rounds 2-4, it'd be nice if the Cubs turned that round 2-4 signing bonus money into a nice Latin American player. And it'd be even nicer if the Cubs properly returned to the international scene. Zambrano, Guzman, Pie, Cedeno, Pinto, Choi, Ryu were/are all valuable assets to the franchise. Agreed. Although, plenty of quality players fall in the draft due to signability concerns (Eric Patterson and Micah Owings in '04, for example). I'd like to see the Cubs nab some of those guys and throw money at them. That would be most welcome, imo. Agreed, the cubs can take some shots at guys who fall and give them higher round money. They had better sign them though, or the draft will be really bad this year.

    I thought Mind Game was a bit disappointing. I'm a BP subscriber, I didn't think it was up to the quality of their best stuff. There were a number of grammar and spelling mistakes as well.

    Is it just me, or is Lovie Smith the exact opposite of Dusty? The best players play, period. If you suck, you're gone.

    It's the Cubs. They will think they are in it and trade for some crappy B type player and then play the vets for the rest of the year so they can reach their incentives. In the off season they will sign more crappy B vets and lose as many draft picks as they can. :lol: :oops: :cry: :evil:

    Have you're fun but don't forget you guys will have "JRod" and So running around the OF. :D Do you think the cubs have any chance of finishing ahead of the cards? Cubs will be lucky to finish 3rd in the division. Seriously. I agree.

    Has anything happened yet this offseason that isn't worst case scenario? I guess at least Giles didn't sign with the Cards.

    If they land both Lofton and Sanders, where would that leave Cruz? How about helping them out and taking Drew off of their hands?

    The D-Backs are going to have a really good offense in the near future. Seems like we could swap some pitching for some of that offense.

    When healthy, Nomar produces enough for anywhere you put him. Looks like he would be an avg 1b with his production. In their lineup, I guess it is enough.

    I think Dayn Perry gave the cubs a bad grade. Most people have been down on their moves so far.
