    You can't believe they are getting grief for this? Yeah, when has something like this happened elsewhere? I can think of teams having parts of their stadiums closed down for work during a season, but weren't those announced as such? The Cubs have been talking all along like the construction wouldn't impact things during the season. The Athletics used to routinely tarp over huge sections of their seating - and still might for all I know - but it's the Athletics so nobody attends those games anyway. They do that because the stadium holds 65000 people, they want to lower capacity. It has nothing to do with construction.

    I am at a hotel in Elk Grove and it just took me almost an hour to get to and back from a McDonalds less than a block away because it was on the other side of a six-lane road and an intersection and I kept driving past my turns because I couldn't get over in time. Big Ben, parliament?

    If they demanded say Rizzo and Russell would you even turn that down? I'd try *really* hard to get them to ask for something else because it's awfully late in the year to be finding another 1b. But the value doesn't bother me. Then the Rise of Vogelbachhhhhhhhhhhhh! Or Shwarbs.

    he does kind of seem like a classic "recruit amazingly for two years but the team never gets good and everything falls apart" guy. Yeah, the red ass thing doesn't last very long. I have a hard time seeing him getting along with Cutler.
