  1. im pretty sure the Rangers still own the name
  2. if he just lets it go with no trims or anything, he'll look more like billy gibbons from ZZTop by opening day
  3. Actually, I think he got a fair ammount of love last year too. Maybe you're thinking of a different northsidebaseball? There were definately a bunch of people that called him a baby and said that he needed to grow up. I certainly wasn't one of those people but they were on this board. yeah it was here, i remember holding my tongue often, particularly early in the season...BTW, ive had my Z pinstripes since 2003
  4. wow all the love just cause he lost some weight? last year the guy couldnt get out from under "i wish he would grow up, he's gonna implode" on this board. well its nice to see ya'll might finally be appreciating this awsome guy for what he is...one bad arse mo-fo
  5. so, prior was hospitalized in december and this is the first we are hearing about it?
  6. is it jst me or is Kerry carrying a couple xtra 10lbs?
  7. holy carp!!!! Z looks awsome!
  8. ok thats it!!!! the human race has finally lost it, at least in this hemisphere..."front butt"???? our population now has a euphamism for ....wait what??? front butt???? i'm defecting to ethiopia!
  9. i agree with this guy... i mean, the guys been with us for almost a year and has maybe 40 or so posts....one being this statement...
  10. what he said
  11. derrick turnbow
  12. Found this article in the Charlotte Observer Sports Section. Didn't find anything in the business section, tho. saturdays paper said it would be in the business section, im not suprised it was in sports....as far as the paper situation goes charolette is still kind of a hick town
  13. in todays charolette observer(business section) there is an article discussing this possible move, i havent read it yet, i'll buy the paper tomorrow and offer a summary. unless someone tracks down the article b4 i do, but im not gonna hunt it down tonight on the net, its breakfast reading for me in the morn'.
  14. i was at one of those games too, my seats werent quite that good though
  15. a division title in '03, it aint much but its more than the mavs have managed How? Cuban took the Devil Rays and turned them into the Red Sox in about a year. The Steve Nash decision looks bad now, but when his contract ends lets see how bad it is for Phoenix. We could do much, much worse than having Mark Cuban own the Cubs. oh boy they made the play offs 4 years straight...not a big deal in a sport where half the teams make the playoffs, all cuban has managed to do is turn a perrenial loser into a "might go somewhere"...you can say the same thing about MacPhail/Hendry and the cubs...at least i dont have to watch the owner of the cubs screaming at the umps from the stands and generally making an arse of himself You obviously just hate Mark Cuban, for whatever reason. Why hold him to such an unreasonable standard? You are saying he's a bad owner because he hasn't won a world championship in the 6 years he has owned the team? Forget that he has turned them completely around he hasn't won a championship in 6 years! The Mavs are the 2nd or 3rd best team in the NBA this year and have beaten all the big contenders. its not so much that i hate cuban. i lived in texas for the last 5 years and saw him come out of the stands to yell at refs, scream at his own players as well as opposing players from his courtside seats, and make asinine comments to the press on a relatively regular basis(thanks to the SW sports report)i have no desire to see this behavior associated with cubs ownership. this was all i said, you then said winning is all you care about, i just reminded you that the mavs have won nothing, not even a division title, under cubans ownership. crucify me
  16. i agree with you're ideas here, except that corey isnt a good hitter, we saw glimpses of what he could be if left alone with his abilities in 2003... .298BA, .320OBP, .511SLG.corey was over coached and forced into roles he was never meant to play, it screwed with his approach so much that he just lost it
  17. we can go back and forth on this all day long, you're not gonna change my mind...i think mark cuban is a bufoon and would rue the day that he became the owner of the cubs

  20. Yeah, I hope Cuban wouldn't bring his antics involving taking a perennial doormat and turning them into a perennial power. i for one could do with out him jumping up and down behind the dugout yelling at the umps or worse, at the players, making stupid comments in the press and generally embarassing the rest of us fans...as much as i would like to see a winner on the northside, i wouldnt trade my dignity and class to make it happen. Cuban has curbed his behavior recently and in my mind is justified in calling out the officiating in the NBA on occasion. When has he yelled at players? I'll take a guy who would "embarrass" the fan by turning them into a contender. Frankly, I'm more embarrsed by the current lineup than anything Cuban could do. bad calls are part of the game, be it the NBA or MLB, an owner has no business calling out an official during a game and throwing temper tantrums on the sidelines, i dont care how bad a call is, coaches and managers are hired to handle these situations. i havent watched any mavs game this year, so i cant speak to cuban dialing it down, but i wouldnt want to see an owner of the cubs pull the crap ive seen him pull(living in texas for 5 years i got to see all his antics on the SW sports report...he was regularly featured for one dumb thing or another) I guess you care more about that stuff than I do. I'm more interested in the bottom line. The bottom line is Cuban's teams win because he works hard to make them win. That's enough for me. remind me again what the mavs have won in recent memory?
  21. not a good post for your first post...we dont bad mouth posters here
