  1. I have a feeling the Tennessee starting squad is going to be pretty tough.
  2. I remember being told to never trade with Tim when I first joined the league...
  3. I know that feeling. I just enjoy going to minor league games, so I go sometimes even when a Cubs affiliate isn't playing. I live close enough to watch games at Carolina (AA Southern League) and Durham (AAA International League). For what it's worth I've considered going to some additional games as well after doing some additional research on Cal Ripken, Jr. His rookie ball team (Bluefield Orioles) is celebrating their 50th year of affiliation with Baltimore this season. The town is having a big celebration of the team history and I'd love to go see a game. In addition, I'm learning that Cal was pretty familiar with Tennessee over his minor league career and I'd enjoy going to see some of the places he visited.
  4. I have missed these threads. Wow, Outshined, thanks so much. Like Cubway mentioned, the reality of the situation still hasn't set in with me. The other day I was talking about the season and said _______________ is going to look great in a Diamond Jaxx uniform this season. I have to say that I am very happy that Ron is going to continue being the "Voice of the Diamond Jaxx". My wife and I have so much respect and appreciation for him, both on and away from the booth. As tough as losing the affiliation contract was, not having Ron at the park would have been really awkward. Even with a new affiliate, I still plan to spend a ton of time at the big chip this season, even when the Smokies are not the visiting team. Pringles Park is a very special place to my family. Hopefully we'll still see a lot of Ron on the site this year. In addition, I hope that we see Mick around a lot as well. With their help, hopefully we can continue to bring Q & A sessions from the AA level in '07. Thanks again!
  5. Probably. I really thought they were going to declare it a draw rather than let this progress and split the coverage. Besides, what will there be about the Astros to cover besides the daily "Will the Rocket come back" columns in the first month of the season?
  6. Would they have posted an update had the Astros been up 100 votes?
  7. Whoops! If you look up a couple spots, I already did. We'll all act suprised, though! I'm just a little s l o w
  8. Just checked the newspaper site for an update. All I can say is WOW. I'll let Vance share the news...
  9. This Nick guy sounds like quite the winner. Echoing the earlier comments, it is disturbing that someone in media would think it's such a non issue that they rigged a competition.
  10. Since I'm already hoping for injury free, might as well acquire Duchscherer for the time being and hope for the best. Hey, maybe Clemens will come back after all.
  11. Valverde + Conor Jackson.
  12. Yeah, and I'll get bit either way. If I trade Harden he'll do well. If I keep him, his arm will fall off on his first pitch.
  13. For the record, I'm screwed in the reliever column.
  14. ok, thanks for the info. Next question. A guy I had counted on as a relievr was sent to the minors. What is the process to add another player?
  15. So what if I accidentally exceed the 7 start limit?
  16. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting both of them when Nomar had his rehab assignment in west Tennessee. Great couple.
  17. Might as well enjoy this while it lasts. It'll certainly be the last time. The funny thing is that the majority of people that are signing ballots are doing it in response of the newspaper "misplacing" the other ballots.
  18. Ha ha. I hope they don't pay too much attention to the area code it's faxed from, Chris. I had them write their location. Well, I at least had them write the state they were in. If they have a problem they should do a better job with the rules. You'd think these people would've made a official ballot in the newspaper that was the only vote they would accept. That way, forget limiting votes per household or name and they sell papers.
  19. I should be good for another 35+ via the fax. ha ha
  20. Check out the Great American Dream Vote thread in Social... link I really should pay more attention to those Social threads. ^^^^^^^^^^^ 6563 post in Social
