  1. I'm personally glad to see it and am not surprised at all that this happened. For one, other teams were offering to put up more money for the building of a new stadium. The big picture, as mentioned in the article, is the uncertainty of the Jaxx ownership. I would like to see the team sold to the former owner, David Hersh. However, I highly doubt that will happen. To put into perspective how much he is disliked, the asking price for the team went up millions after he expressed interest. My basic reaction is simple: ha ha in the face of the Jaxx ownership with particular emphasis towards the front office. Yeah, I know, real mature of me. In any case, the new group came in and has treated people of West Tennessee as thought they are the most ignorant people in the country. They changed things, took away popular promotions, burned many bridges, and are now facing the consequences. Rather than admit they were wrong and rather than give in, they tried to up and move and blame it on the lack of support. From a psychological perspective, I am so intrigued as to what will happen this season. I wonder if the fans will forgive and forget, or if they will not show up at all and make them lose even more cash in 2005.
  2. Agreed. I'd like to know who gave the Jaxx stuff, I bet he's a cool guy  I HIGHLY doubt it. O:) Cool or not. He won't win the competition! :w00t: This is exactly what I had hoped for with this competition, lots of trash talk! In any case, as long as I don't end up with the stuff that the Jaxx guy gave (cool guy) then it's all good.

  5. Um..............no. It's good to see the interest in this contest. I'm glad that I won't have to buy an NSBB shirt after all.
  6. I do have all of my O's stuff from when I followed Ripken, now I just have to find it.
  7. Definitely. I have been in a bad mood all day. My favorite player on my favorite team has been traded for what will initially looks to amount to around $5 million this season. There are lots of people to blame, but I put lots of it in the people that were unmerciful to him with their boos and jeers. Him getting booed at the Convention (as pointed by NC), could be what pushed Hendry over the edge.
  8. Premium is temporarily shut down.
  9. I'm sure he'll post his full report tomorrow. After everything that went on, I wasn't sure if he would even post it here. I've been keeping up with the "other board" to see if he's posted anything but I am yet to see it. It's there now, for your perusement....I had to recover all day monday, and wrote it Mon nite/Tues morning...all from memory. Best wishes, Mark Recover? Are you ok?
  10. Thank you to everyone who reported, it was a great read!
  11. Yet another great report. It sounds like you all had a great time up there. I may have to make it a point to go there next year. I would love the opportunity to visit with all of you. Thanks for the Kanges update. I was curious what would happen with that.
  12. Thanks for the info. That's not really that bad for a game worn Sosa jersey. The Cubs do not have a great authentication process. Their authentication involves the item with a basic photocopied letter of authenticity. They write in what the item is and they do not attach anything to the item being sold (no hologram, ID, etc). With that being said, it's a scary thing to buy. Granted, you can always get another group to authenticate it.
  13. Mark, good report. What were some of the selling prices at the auction?
  14. With my line of work, we're always trying to come up with ways to get exposure in the community. When we built our website, we wanted to get as much exposure as possible. With that being said, it was put in newspapers and on various other things in the community. One way that we got exposure in the community was cheapest and most basic ways possible to do it: Small business cards that simply said what the site was and what the address was. They were cheap to print and easy to carry. In addition, they were easy to give out. With that being said, how about coming up with a business card styled card with the name of the site, a brief description and the address? We could then give them to posters that are at Cub games. They could simply give them out and see what happens. It would be inexpensive and could be quite productive. It's worked pretty good for us.
  15. What the...there are real girls on the internet? Crazy. Well, actually, I'm a 50 year old man. Those are just some random pictures I found on someone else's album. The guys in Social will be crushed

  17. Any word on whether or not Kanges went off at the question session?
  18. Sold out? When I left earlier, they still had boxes of them... but I left a few hours ago, so maybe they are. The people saying that are also trying to sell them, so it could be a "rumor". In any case, I just found a guy with over 300 of them getting $6 each. Major, major profit.
  19. Jon, I hope you found the Believe bracelets, the word is that they sold out and are going for over $10 each on ebay!
  20. Thank you to everyone for your reports!
  21. I'm torn between the :pale: and the :pukel:
  22. Actually I got hooked up with the office. Since I have to be on the road so much, I asked for a new laptop with docking port when they installed new computers last week.
  23. I too was thinking about how I was going to be out of town for big portions of the summer. And then, enter new laptop with wireless modem 8)
