  1. Wow, great news from Fleita on Pie (could be back in 7 days)
  2. Tennessee is 27-15 when they score first, but the Jaxx have 25 comeback wins
  3. Montanez tries to make a diving catch and the ball goes under his glove and reaches the wall for a leadoff triple. The runner makes it home on a grounder to make it 1-0 after the top of the first. The Smokies came out swinging, swinging at all but 4 pitches (ball in the dirt, ball outside, two pitches taken for strikes)
  4. Quick reminder to everyone that you can listen to the Jaxx games through the link at http://www.diamondjaxx.com
  5. First, welcome to the Forum! In regards to his return there is no real timetable on his return.
  6. I just called to check but no information to provide on the starter for Game 2. I'm sure Ron will let us know during the broadcast of Game 1.

  8. Haha. I'm not sure if Ron likes all of Coleman's Jordan references, though. ha ha, good point. Had I been dressed more for media I would've caught up with him after the game. Maybe tomorrow.
  9. Another Jaxx player used in the same sentence as MJ...
  10. The gameday guy was wearing the special Diamond Jaxx camoflauge jersey tonight at the game. The jersey looks so much better than I thought it would! The jersey has a walking Cub logo patch on the sleeve and white numbers on the back. The jerseys will be auctioned next Friday night after the game. As with the scout jerseys, the player will sign the jersey and meet the buyer after the jersey is auctioned.

  12. I have that clip and the Ron Potesta clip saved in my media files. I would add to the MB Shout Outs thread every time Potesta mentions the site but it's too many to keep up with!
  13. DJaxx, I agree with you about this. There doesn't seem to be much basis for conversation when the thread is inflammatory. However, there's many threads with inflammatory subjects such as: "Buck and McCarver= Cruelest form of torture." And while I agree that they are bad, this offers no objective viewpoint to what (and like I said, I agree with) your stating with: " How is the line drawn on certain topics? Being the new guy on the Mod scene I can't say how long the topic has been discussed. However, I do know how sensitive the Sosa subject has been on several different levels, which is why I specifically made it a point to talk about the title line. The Sosa situation is definitely a topic that posters are divided and I personally felt that it was worth bringing up. In regards to your question it is a very valid point and it will be brought up. I appreciate your thought process and I encourage you to feel free to ask questions at any point in the future. Take care!
  14. It was a terrible play. He was running to his left to cut off the ball and ran by it. He tried to reach back with the bare hand but couldn't get it. To his credit several said it took a bad hop.
  15. Greetings all, just got back from "The Big Chip". The media badge is in my name and does have several requirements. The badge is not in a general name since I have to sign agreements both with MLB and Minor League Baseball. I'll get around to listing the guidelines once I have a little more time.
  16. I appreciate your concern in regards to creating a new thread for a similar discussion, I really do. My only concern was the line about Sosa. There are many posters on this site that love still love Sosa and will back him regardless of how he plays. With that being said, a line of "Sammy hurting the O's updated" (IMHO) makes this a thread not to discuss the deal but a place to rip on Sammy. I understand your concern, I will relabel the the thread to not be so inflammatory? I don't know if that question mark is unintentional or subtly sarcastic, because either way makes sense. This is a message board for discussion. We aren't professional owners and managers who have to carefully choose our criticisms. We're fans. And if you (badger), or anyone, wants to bring forth a negative article about Sosa and then label it as such, where's the problem? We have no reason to try and seperate the praising and the complaining. A messageboard works best with discussion. To seperate these two types of opinions creates one Love-fest and one Hate-fest -- neither being truthful, fair, or interesting. Sorry for the rant, but that's just my $ .02 on bashing/defending players. In regards to your point I agree 100%. However, where is a discussion when the title of the thread expressly lets you know that the intent of the thread is to talk about how "bad" someone is doing? Why not label it, "Sosa continues hurting the O's?"?
  17. I have no idea what name it's under. I'll try to find out tonight. I'm not sure if it's under my name alone or the name of NSBB with a list of approved names. In regards to making money for the site, I have to look over the rules for the pass. I know there are some very specific rules and I wouldn't want to jeopardize that in any way. I do know that I cannot ask for autographs. We would like to continue showing support for team charities so I would appreciate hearing your ideas.

  19. But Sammy didn't even play in that game so I don't see the point of that thought. In the series Sammy went 1-5 on the 16th with 5 LOB but that's certainly not as bad as Mora going 0-5 with 6 LOB. Sammy was 3-5 (July 15th). I didn't see it mentioned, but I didn't pay much attention to the article. Was there a calling out of Tejada's errors in the series? Whay about when Tejada went 0-5 on the 14th and stranded 4? Is there an article appreciating the fact that Sosa was responsible for 2 of their 3 runs last night. If someone wants to discuss Sammy then they have all right to. However, putting the line "Sosa hurting the O's updated" is where I personally draw the line.
  20. <--------------------------will be at the Jaxx game in a suite tonight at that! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/DJAXXFAN/broom.jpg
  21. Congratulations, Renyel!
