  1. The Smokies shutout the Jaxx and allow only 2 hits. Final score 4-0.
  2. A guy dressed as a bee just ran out on the field in Jackson. It sounds like it didn't take Security long to get him!
  3. Tennessee working hard to avoid a 5 game sweep. Jaxx down 4-0 as they go to the bottom of the 8th. It's time for Aunt Florence to open her window!
  4. FWIW I won't be making the game tonight. My wife just got a teaching job ( =D> ) and I'm going to help her set up her classroom. In addition I have/had a phone interview scheduled before the Iowa game. Hopefully it didn't fall through
  5. Not a problem! In regards to the session, the latest addition to the Q & A threads is up and running! This thread is a Q & A with Jaxx pitching coach Alan Dunn! If you would like to send a question or comment to Alan, please take time to do so in his thread. In addition, be sure to send your questions and comments to Jeff Parker and Ribbee in their Q & A threads!
  6. So the Admins/Mods were/are lying? Trust me, they had their reasons.
  7. Where in the Admin/Mod explanation (earlier in the thread) did it say that he was banned for posting a rumor?
  8. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/DJAXXFAN/alandunn.jpg Alan Dunn, Pitching Coach for the 2005 Southern League First Half Champion West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx, has graciously agreed to answer questions from posters on NSBB! If you would like to send a comment to Alan, or if you would like to ask Alan a question, feel free to post it here. I will allow the questions/comments to be posted until Monday, July 25th at noon. I will conduct the interview with Coach Dunn on Tuesday, July 26th. Once I have an opportunity to type up the interview, Alan's responses will be posted. From the Jaxx website: This session will be coordinated as in accordance with The NSBB Q & A Guidelines Thank you to Alan for taking the time to interact with us on such an up close and personal level! A special thank you also goes out to Jay Dunn for helping not only to set up this interview, but for coordinating a silent auction raising over $3,000 for the JDRF! I encourage everyone to visit the official website of the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx. In addition, thank you to all of you for making NSBB such a wonderful community!
  9. I am considering driving to the game but Oneri isn't there and I haven't had a confirmation that Vince Coleman is still there. Besides, I was able to secure another Q & A that will be announced before the day is over...
  10. For what it's worth, Nathan Baliva, broadcaster for Peoria is a huge Cardinal fan as well (See his Q & A). I know what you're saying about the Jaxx selling Cardinal stuff in the past but I don't think they're doing that any more.
  11. I don't think it's a bad thing for people to be curious about DLee's performance when looking over the scoreboard. In regards to the '98 season I don't see the problem with that either. In '98 Sosa was in the middle of a HR race and people wanted to keep up with that. DLee is currently making a run at the Triple Crown. With that being said I have no issues with people asking how he did after a game. In regards to DLee vs Wood I personally can't see how anyone that is a Cub fan would put Lee hitting a HR over Wood leaving the game.
  12. David Brandt of the Jackson Sun provides us with our Diamond Jaxx stat of the day:
  13. The Jaxx had been discussing the possibility of moving as recently as in the past month. However, the Jaxx have come out and made an announcement that they plan on staying at least through the 2006 season. They have stated that they want to remain in Jackson and make things work. They feel it is possible if they can just get the average attendance at 2,500 per game. I'm sure you've noticed that we have a Q & A going with Jeff Parker, General Manager for the Jaxx. If you have any questions on the subject, feel free to post them for him to receive.
  14. Let me start by saying that I appreciate the discussion in regards to the site. IMHO, sharing thoughts and ideas on the site conveys a desire to make the site as great as possible. Yes, NSBB is groiwng, and with growth come certain "growing pains." Just in the last week our registered user total has increased and yesterday I saw as many as 240 people viewing the site at once. However, with the growth comes more responsibility. Posters must learn more users and the Admins/Mods must traffic more posts per day. I am one of the newer Mods on the site (with brinoch) and can honestly say that I have learned so much since becomig a Mod. I don't want to turn this into a praise the Admins/Mods love fest but I do want to reiterate that the Admins/Mods try hard to grant everyone as much freedom as possible while sticking within the guidelines.
  15. I'm going to go ahead and post the guidelines...
  16. That would be hilarious!
  17. that's probably true. hopefully if corey continues to show progress, they won't have that problem for much longer. also, i forgot to mention that kelton continues to impress me. i've never been a big fan of his, but the dude has really hit in the games i've seen lately. he rarely looks bad at the plate. tonight he got down two strikes real quick, but he didn't fall apart...smoked a rbi basehit into left center. he also flew out to fairly deep right center earlier in the game...did a real good job of going w/ an outside breaking ball. he looked fine at 1b tonight as well. Good for David! I don't think it's a big surprise that I would be rooting for him! FWIW Vince Coleman and Oneri were at the games today and I would like to think that they will be there tomorrow. With that being said I think I'll try to get to the game.
  18. The big difference between Iowa and Peoria/West Tenn is that the broadcasters for Iowa aren't posting on NSBB. I have been in contact and set up the interviews with them but haven't heard from them. My guess is that the CPatt situation made media requests go through the roof.
  19. yeah, why don't you do something around here for once? :D It's all good, just having fun. I am hoping to hear from Jeff before long. Have you noticed more media since CPatt is there?
  20. Thanks for the report! You know, if you don't like being in the hot weather, maybe we should try to get you media cred.
  21. Ohhhh....I can't stand the suspense. They're up!
