    at least once in the past several consecutive games, Santo has had occasion to simply scream "WHY???" -- it's his only commentary for like 10 seconds after some plays -- i know i shouldn't laugh

    i think i may be off the fire dusty bandwagon -- wouldn't a better scenario be dusty at the helm for a 100-loss season, *then* bring in someone else -- because nobody any good would want to be an interim manager? would give hendry time for proper search, rather than mid-season panic? there's no danger of the cubs getting better and saving dusty's job, so i am thinking ride it out -- tho dusty could ruin more all-star careers but hopefully luck will prevail

    the Royals have some decent talent, compared to the Cubs, because they have an almost identical record, in the AL Central... that means they are better than the Cubs I think?

    here's a post: MacPhail, hendry, baker, and all coaches must be booted immediately, and all the players. trade each and every one for the entire roster of the KC royals and start over, minor leagues too.

    YAWN... endless santo blabbing attributing the cubs' year-long suckiness to the youth of the cubs starting staff. um, verlander? miner? rookies can kick serious butt -- the cubs don't have the right ones, is all.

    the cubs threw mitre in the bullpen last year after he made a bad start, which was ill-advised for a sinkerball-type like mitre, and led to further disastrous results when they brought him in after a few weeks of inactivity then he was predictably dead to the cubs after that misuse -- too bad about his shoulder injury tho
