  1. stick one of dem fastballs right in Froemming's grill, Kerry!
  2. I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour... but heaven knows the Cubs are miserable now! In my life, why do I give valuable time, to teams who I'd much rather kick in the eye?
  3. fish! FISH! I tell you, the Cubbies can BEAT ALL the FISH! ALL OF THEM! MWAHAHAHAHA! Oh rats, I don't have any insight to justify this post. Again. Hmmm. Well... here goes. OK, Marshall will make this particular game, tonight, look like ALL those other minor league games within which Marshall did exactly that: Mow down all those pesky AAA dang upstarts! Haha! I did it. Not only that, but I *Actually* do think Marshall will, in truth, pitch well and get the win for the Cubs! First of several wins for the Cubs. Acheive health, vs. the Marlins, that's what I always say. Sweep them fish right now, right now.
  4. more fish! put those devil rays on that interleague schedule. just pirates and fish, the cubs still end up in first. i think that exhausts all possibilities the cubs are better than tho. altho i KNOW the cubbies are trying to win, are professional, and indeed will have some great games ahead. which i will personally enjoy, as will we all.
  5. that is an excellent photo of nolasco in the game thread starter. absolutely top-notch. oh c'mon there will be 400 posts in this thread by the time the game's over, what difference does one throwaway post like this make. ok i think the cubs will pummel the fish, even with dusty, the cubs might be actually better... fish and pirates, fish and pirates, fish and pirates, if the cubs schedule were made up solely of these... then the cubs might get a parade and we might all dance around as ignorant drunken fools... were it only so...
  6. Thanks Nathan for your helpful tips on the Peoria post-game scene. OK, for some of us pre-game too. That's going to come in very handy. Your discussion and elucidation in this thread is very good, interesting stuff, so thanks for that too. Go Chiefs!
  7. Sam, As a big red sox fan, did you have a fun time celebrating the red sox world series last year? Did you go to Boston? How was the scene where you were? Any good stories? Vicariously, Cold
  8. Hey Matt, I attended the Midwest League All-Star Game in Peoria this year and had quite a good time, from a fan's perspective. How about you? You had a lot of Chiefs teammates there, which was cool. How was pitching in the game -- and what were the most fun events outside of the game? If you have an amusing tale or two from All-Star week, please do share. Thanks!
  9. Hey Nathan, In your humble opinion, what bar(s) in Peoria do you think would be best to attend after a game? I like cheap microbrews and women dancing with baseball mitts on their heads, if that helps. No country music. Prolly would need espn for the west coast game but not too excessive tv's. Do you happen to know how Eric P is doing against lefties (splits?)? Since we hope he will be an everyday player at Wrigley soon... Thanks!
  10. Future HOFer Ryan Harvey *IS* the second-coming of albert pujols -- except THIS time, the Mighty Peorian will be on OUR side! We shall all be avenged, at last. Put this someday-cubs-legend on the Q&A list if you could, nsbb. cold
  11. Get to the park early, and try to forget everything. Live in the moment! There will be plenty of fireworks because the Cubs bats will awaken, but only for one glorious late summer day, to clobber the Reds. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/407799.jpg Brandon Claussen (6-8, 4.85) vs. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/425532.jpg Jerome Williams (3-4, 4.60) Enjoy!
  12. I was there, that very dark day when our Manager batted Lenny Harris in the leadoff slot for the Cubs... It was all over after that.
