Eh, either way, it takes a basehit to score him. yeah, and now he can't score on a balk/wild pitch/passed ball/infield hit, and possibly a line drive right at an outfielder. fielder obstruction.

Thats pretty cool although that kinda makes you think twice about buying an Oswalt Jersey or something. they'rein Mil. might be worth buying a few Fielder shirts just so you hit. that bat would probably be worth something considering Fielder is the leading MVP candidate right now (IMO).

that's a friendly way of putting it. Helton fired a laser rocket that got interrupted by Pie's mitt. Awaiting confirmation from Cubs trainers that Pie still has any fingers remaining on glove hand. that's much more accurate.

I don't completely get this. Zell has made no commitment whatsoever. he's got the Trib bent this far over the barrell even though there's a large chance he doesn't go through with the deal. more than the Cubs showing they have no leverage when it comes to a Jones deal, the Trib just showed their lack of leverage in the corporate sale.

called up to the Cards. now on to Maroth, Ohka, Percival all making miraculous turn arounds/comebacks with Carpenter and Mulder showing no ill effects from their injuries. -
I don't really believe that it's a major snag. There's no way the trade got where it did without the teams talking money. If anything, they're arguing about $1-2M, or they're waiting for the approval of the commissioner's office, which I can't believe would be hard to get on such an inconsequential transaction. I agree. the rule requiring the Commish to sign off was designed to keep teams from purchasing players from another team. that's not what is going on here.

That source is still trash. They are getting it from this thread or the marlins thread. props to Reds44 for hanging around. if I were to post a fake rumor, I wouldn't stick around the thread. if I posted a scoop, and got flamed for it, I would probably stick around for the ol 'I told you so.' there's hope yet. however, any deal right now would mean the Fish going with 24 players tonight, unless Jacque made his way to the airport without anyone noticing, which I doubt.
