  1. Long is going to be a nice trade chip at the deadline if he keeps this up.
  2. Whoever is chucking it for the Biscuits is hitting triple digits but can’t throw strikes
  3. It’s like 89 with 70% humidity. I don’t know how they play baseball every day in this horsefeathers No wind either
  4. Going to the biscuits game. Who should I watch?
  5. It's easy to bag on Tom's post, but one point I'd like more information on: when has underslotting worked out for the Cubs or any other team? I honestly don't know
  6. It's all water under the bridge. At least for once, everyone looks like they are on the same page. They had their draft and drafted guys for Johnson's approach. I am optimistic about the future. I don't think Poles is the right GM for this team, but time will tell.
  7. I know MLB is a BPA type draft, but given where the Cubs are in their prospect hierarchy, does anyone think the first few rounds will be pitcher-heavy for the Cubs?
  8. One of the markers of a good team is that they can win even when they are not playing at their best. The Cubs won the series against the Marlins, not playing their best baseball. It's a good sign that they are a good team.
  9. They had questions about the health of his arm. I’m pretty sure they got down to checking the medical records
  10. First game and all but, Big Mo will have to learn to be more selective at the plate. He's got such great bat-to-ball skills that he can hit anything, they will exploit that.
  11. PCA is a stud. If he can remain injury-free, the sky is the limit. 23 years old. They better not horsefeathers this up like they did with Maddux.
  12. It wasn't a great night for him last night, but he did show some discipline in pitch selection. Pat mentioned that he asked the ump if the pitch he swung at was a strike. All good stuff.
  13. If we get to choose, I'll take Jobe instead of Rea.
  14. So, here we are after the NY series. It was a weekend series I only caught sporadic glimpses of the games. It sounds like Happer has a nagging hammy. The trending slump is full slump except for Dansby, but that happens during the season. The pen is the pen until something changes. I don't know what that something will be. Horton-hears-a-whoo had three good innings out of 4 in his debut against one of the best lineups in the NL. You have to like that. All and all, and all things considered, I'm happy they took one. Now they play weaker competition. It's time for them to rise above and show they are contenders.
  15. The answer is Mickey Mantle
