  1. It wasn't a great night for him last night, but he did show some discipline in pitch selection. Pat mentioned that he asked the ump if the pitch he swung at was a strike. All good stuff.
  2. If we get to choose, I'll take Jobe instead of Rea.
  3. So, here we are after the NY series. It was a weekend series I only caught sporadic glimpses of the games. It sounds like Happer has a nagging hammy. The trending slump is full slump except for Dansby, but that happens during the season. The pen is the pen until something changes. I don't know what that something will be. Horton-hears-a-whoo had three good innings out of 4 in his debut against one of the best lineups in the NL. You have to like that. All and all, and all things considered, I'm happy they took one. Now they play weaker competition. It's time for them to rise above and show they are contenders.
  4. The answer is Mickey Mantle
  5. It’s a favorite word on here for ok or mediocre.
  6. Yikes! I just got home. When Jamo is off he’s off
  7. You are but a young whipper-snapper.
  8. Mike Harkey waves while walking on his titanium knee.
  9. I would cream my jeans, bet Devers is not really playable at 3rd. He’s not a guy the Cubs usually target.
  10. Law has Irish going one spot above. That seems kind of high for a guy who may not have a position. I wonder if he has enough power to play OF. He is supposed to have a great arm.
  11. Our Cubs lost a winnable series at home, and the bats are trending toward slump. Someone mentioned the lack of depth is starting to show. It's plausible, but it's also conceivable that this is an ebb and flow to the season. Hopefully, they bust the slump trend in NYC. The Mets have a good lineup. We have a better idea of the shopping list for Jed, 3B, SP, lockdown closer. That's a long list and will require a high price. Let's all hope Shaw is ready to take over by mid June.
  12. These are frustrating games. Brown didn't pitch that bad, but too much contact.
  13. Dansby is one of the streakiest hitters this side of Alphonso Soriano. Let’s hope he keeps it going.
  14. I hope Boyd’s arm stays attached for the next six weeks.
