  1. 10/10 for me. Notice the right-hand index finger doing the number #1 before the left-hand finger #1. It was a mic drop more than a bat flip, and I'm cool with that.
  2. Bote is going to make a nice trade asset this winter.
  3. I think there's a pretty big middle ground between, "anything can happen between between 'typical' playoff teams," and, "a good team that unfortunately kind of hit the wall due to injuries and an imploding starting rotation probably has a better shot of a rough go of it in the playoffs." Again, just boiling down to, "BUT LOOK AT THEIR RECORD," and, "anything can happen in the playoffs" feels more like handwaving away how the team is actually performing right now and what they're dealing with right now as the season winds down. I would really be surprised if they didn't make the playoffs, but I'm also not really expecting them to do much in the playoffs barring Bryant and at least one other starting pitcher really roaring back as themselves. I think these are called "the dog days of summer" for a reason. I'd rather see Joe give a guy like Lester short outings on purpose or a skip in the rotation, but it would be a lot easier if the Brewers would fade away to 7 or more back. I've worried about the SP since Chatwood couldn't harness his stuff in April. Darvish could still be tipping pitches and injured for all we know. Whatever happens, I'm enjoying the hell out of this season.
  4. The Cubs Ace has become very hittable lately.
  5. I don’t know why but I get especially pissed at Cub fans who think Harper will break the Rickett’s pocketbook. They horsefeathering own entire city blocks and a billion dollar company that is not the Chicago Cubs in addition to owning the Chicago Cubs who are worth a billion dollars x3. The only thing that will stop them from spending is peer pressure from other billionaires.
  6. Punchless wonders getting no hit by this git.
  7. Chatwood’s replacement looks pretty decent
  8. That Rosenthal tweet is a fake. Everyone can breathe a little easier now.
  9. Alos, that sounds suspiciously like a Heyman CYA tweet. I bet the Cubs and several other teams are in the same demographic.
  10. Stroman is a big injury risk.
  11. Yes, but Grace was considered a highish prospect, I believe, a few years before he made the Cubs. I was thinking of someone who may have flown under the radar throughout their minor league career - which I guess is tough because you have to play well enough to get called up. It may well be Piazza -I know he was drafted last but I'd assumed he'd made a bigger splash in the minors. Big Papi, but he wasn’t drafted.

  15. You are nothing if not consistent. However, I like this move too. I’m also glad Theo has seen the wisdom of my point of view that I’ve never expressed publicly before.
  16. They're irrelevant right now. horsefeathers him.
  17. Behind the Pirates after today. Haha!
  18. Baseball is silly. Rocket outs and seeing eye grounders for RBI.
  19. Dude wasn't touching second when he caught that
