  1. Cubs have the worst BABIP luck in the world
  2. Little sweating through his jersey throwing balls
  3. I feel bad for Henderson but I’ll take it.
  4. Can we just take Baltimore’s 3B when we leave?
  5. At least take a couple of inches off the top
  6. Suttcliffe on the pregame show with his usual level of hyperbole. He always has to turn it up to 11
  7. Bobby Brownlie (who now works for Scott Boras)
  8. I know people are generally down on Alonso, but the Cubs need SLG. I would not be against this if they can work out an extension. I'm not interested in an Alonso for the rest of the year trade.
  9. The WS are not in the lottery, but I agree with Goony. The point is not to make the team bad, but to make it better as fast as possible. Unless the Cubs go on an unexpected run of greatness to finish the season, I think the Ricketts are content to give Jed one more year to finish his contract. Next year he's going to need to pull a rabbit out of his hat to keep his job.
  10. I think there is a little bit of a fire lit under this team as they head to the ASB. It's likely not sustainable, but in a short series, all bets are off. I can see the Cubs winning this game if Shota can keep the ball in the yard.
  11. Not really. A favorable pitching matchup
  12. Baltimore has a bad reputation but the area around the park looks great
  13. I'm secretly hoping they draft Malcom Moore. 1) I love the name 2) They need a fast moving catcher 3) I fell in love with the fluff piece I read about him a few days ago. Before that, the first I heard about him was the rave reviews on his interview.
  14. THE UMPIRES HAVE NO SAY IN THE WAY MLB CHOOSE TO PLAY BASEBALL.
  15. Only if one believes in pitcher whisperers.
  16. lol. If MLB and the players agree to LIDAR based strike zone there is not one thing the umpires can do about it. It's a rule change. We are no longer going to call balls and strikes this way, we are going to call them that way. The umpires can't say we don't like the pitch clock. They can't say we don't like video reviews. It was told to them how the system would work. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/4410592/2023/04/14/mlb-umpire-rule-changes-opinion/
  17. The umpires have no say in the rules that baseball decides on. They interpret the rules. They take their orders from MLB. So, the decision will be made by the owners and the players.
