  1. wait that is the guy's real name, rebel?
  2. we need to sticky a multimedia thread with links to highlights of various games. it'd be great if jonmdavis.net was still providing stuff from previous years, but i think jon has let his site become defunct.
  3. Mel Rojas for me mitch williams in '89, no doubt about it
  4. not realistic. if you're going to have a backup middle infielder, he's almost certain to be a lousy hitter. take a look around baseball and see how many teams have a solid hitter who can come off the bench and play shortstop. if the guy can hit and play SS/2B, he's already starting.
  5. LOL are you serious? again, why are you still reading his posts? 90% of them are completely moronic. And four words or less. yeah, pretty staggering that he manages to exhibit that sort of incompetence in 4 words or less. that's quite a talent.

  7. completely different pitcher. Uh, no. my bad, thought the change was made before the fontenot AB. then yes, fontenot was dumb for swinging at the first pitch.
  8. we should be posting pics of bobby hull, stan mikita and tony esposito; they were the ones in the both when the cubs scored 6 in the 7th against the rockies.
  9. 9 walks tonight.... that's a week's worth under dusty
  10. soto hit the ball harder last night and didn't have much to show for it... baseball is stuff
  11. what did he say about Morrison and Redick when they were drafted? Redick needs to get the hell out of Orlando. He has no future on that team. I think he could become a decent role player, but it has to be the right situation. If he can't play as a spot up shooter on a team with the best low post player in basketball, where would he succeed? the problem is that they already have two perimeter players whose job it is to score in Turkoglu and Lewis. I get that, but shooting is maybe the toughest thing to find in the league. There is no question he could do that. SO why can't he even get on the court? Especially on a team that really doesn't have a two guard. The two you mentioned are still post players. I really think that Reddick is just this generation's Alford. There's a difference between being able to shoot and being able to create a shot in the nba. I have no doubt that he can sit outside the 3-point line and drain jumpers all night long, but i dont think he's quick, agile or strong enough to get his shot off in the league. kyle korver really isn't quick, agile or strong, and he's made a niche for himself in the league. don't know if reddick is slower than korver, but that seems hard to imagine, honestly.
  12. if i was a heat fan and they picked someone other than beasley, i'd seriously consider burning down their arena. personally, i'm on the edge of my seat to see which stiff the sixers pick at #16
  13. he's actually quite good when his arm isn't falling off.
  14. take a seat, ichabod crane
  15. which gas can is currently serving as braves' closer du jour?
  16. yeah good point, the scoreboard is out there and everyone can see it, so if the scoreboard operator is doing something to relay signs to the batter, everyone could see it. the only other possibility is that the guy is telling someone in the dugout who is then relaying the sign to the batter, but i highly doubt that there is time to go through all that before the pitcher makes his pitch.
  17. i wasn't aware that 4 ER and 2 K's in 6 IP constituted a "good start"
  18. "baseball people" probably = "tony larussa"
  19. yes, weather not much of a problem.
  20. suppan's ERA is barely above 4, but that's about the only thing respectable from his performance so far this year. his WHIP is over 1.5, he's given up 11 unearned runs, and a BABIP of .300 is actually lucky for a guy giving up line drives on 23% of the balls put in play. he is just as bad as he was last year, if not worse.
