    why is greg robinson bitter that penn state is calling time outs? it's the friggin first half, you score as many points as you can. they'll run it up the gut in 90% of the plays in the 2nd half. get a better team, then you won't have this problem.

    and gave up 35 points to a team that scored 28 points combined against delaware and middle tennessee st.

    yeah that was a big time trap game... traveling across the country to play a team that looked like complete dud the last two weeks. maryland really isn't as bad as they've played, and cal isn't as good as they've played. i was all over maryland on centsports.

    i still hope they do it. that should be a binding resolution, regardless of what year the brewers actually make it.

    btw wazzu has given up more than 400 yards of rushing, including 220 yards in 12 carries to baylor's leading rusher and their second-leading rusher has 120 yards on 10 carries. is there ANY chance that they win a pac 10 game? they go to two of the worst teams in the conference (oregon st, stanford) and play arizona at home - maybe like a 10% chance at winning? but seriously, next week (portland st) may well be their only chance to win a game all year. (i'm assuming that their last game against hawai'i, they'll just hang out on the beach and then make their token appearance to lose on saturday).

    yeah, really fun game to watch. on the other hand, washington st is getting blown out by baylor. they're friggin terrible.

    i think the colorado game was my favorite. i had pretty much thrown in the towel and was still watching online, i guess i had nothing better to do that day. everyone in the game thread was making fun of the cubs and saying ellis burks and mike greenwell just homered, lou pulled the regulars, and all of a sudden the cubs just start hitting homers. and not even good players; blanco hit a 2-run homer and edmonds (we all thought he sucked then) hit a 2-run double. then kerry wood got in trouble in the 9th and got out of it. craziest game of the year.

    theriot has a .350 BA against cincy and a .435 OBP against pittsburgh. and i don't even have to look this one up, i know soriano kicks the crap out of the braves and pirates.

    not that the cubs have been playing great, but those are the highest they've been all year, i think.

    Something tells me the Cubs are going to take 2 from the Astros, all but eliminating them from the division title. Um... They're all but eliminated already watch it pal, 1 out of 1187 times you're gonna be wrong in that assessment!

    oh college football is made for gambling, baby, but centsports doesn't have the michigan/notre dame o/u :x i got kansas straight up tonight (+130) 3-way parlay on mizzou -26.5, vandy -8.5 and iowa st +14 already got unc straight up (+190) baylor +1.5 maryland +15 i'll probably make a few more too.

    why can't people also stop suggesting changes that haven't been made all year? that's a good way for a manager to send the message to his players that he's panicking.

    not sure. paul sullivan, phil rogers and gordon wittemeyer write a lot dumber things than mariotti.

    the over/under for the nd-mich game is 37. how the hell are they gonna get there?

    that also ignores the fact that in baseball, or almost any sport for that matter, you can't look at 17 games and say it's plausible that they'll just about win out. if that were the case then the cubs and brewers would never have lost those games to the nationals and reds. but even if the astros are on fire and the pirates are headed down the toilet, the pirates are still more likely to win one game than they are to get swept.
